#MeMadeMade 2017 - Full Month Wrap Up -

Esperava ter estado mais presente no blog durante o mês de Maio, e partilhas semanalmente as minhas peças feitas à mão, tal como adicionar a foto diária correspondente no IG. Infelizmente só consegui fazê-lo das primeiras 2-3 semanas, depois tornou-se mais difícil de o fazer, embora tenha de facto vestido as minhas peças o mês inteiro (com uma excepção, já vos conto) e também documentei com fotos cada dia. Aqui está o conjunto final do mês.

I was hoping to be more present through May and post my me mades every week on the blog, and add a daily photo on IG. Unfortunately  only did that for the first 2-3 weeks, then it got harder although I DID actually wear my handmades all month (well, there's an exception, I'll tell you about it in a bit) and I also documented every outfit too. Here is my final wrap from last month challenge. 

Como tinha dito anteriormente, o meu objetivo era vestir pelo menos uma peça feita por mim todos os dias de Maio. E queria evitar repetições também. E consegui? Terei estado eu à altura do desafio? Penso que posso dizer que sim. Apenas não o fiz um único dia (o que foi muito melhor do que no ano passado), não me apetecia mesmo nenhuma das peças que ainda não tinha vestido. Também vesti feitos à mão aos miúdos sempre que possível, embora eles usassem peças repetidas e eu não os tenha fotografado quando isso aconteceu.

As I told you before, my goal was to wear at least one piece made by me every single day of May. I was also aiming for no repeats. So, did I actually do it? Was I up for the challenge? I guess I can say I was. I missed one single day (which is way better than last year), I just wasn't feeling like any of the handmades I had left. I also had my kids wearing their handmades as much as possible, they did wear repeats though and I didn't document their outfits when that happened.

Um corpete/underbust que fiz há muitos anos. Na verdade, não o usei o dia todo, está muito mais apertado do que inicialmente e acabei por desistir dele. E foi isto que se usou por aqui durante o mês de Maio. Não pensei muito naquilo que os miúdos vestiram, faço-lhes tanta coisa e deixa de servir relativamente tão rápido que não penso muito nisso a sério. Mas quando juntei todas as minhas fotos para este post, deu-me que pensar. Pude analisar quais os estilos que prefiro usar, aquelas roupas que podem ter imensos anos mas que eu continuo a usar e a abusar delas. Vesti também algumas que não vestia há muito tempo e recebi elogios e pensei "Porque não as uso mais vezes?". O ano passado cheguei a doar várias peças depois do mês ter terminado pois percebi que não as vestiria mais, este ano, creio que foi o oposto e voltei a enamorar-me por algumas que estavam mais a um canto. Além disso tudo, percebi ainda que quais as cores que prefiro usar para mim e não são muitas!

And this is all that has been used in May over here. I didn't think much about the kids clothes, I make them so many things and they grow them up so easily most of the times that I didn't bother to give it much thought. When it comes to me though, as I put all my photos together for this post, I could analise my fave styles, and the items that no matter how old they are, I will always look them up. I also wore a few items I didn't for such a long time and I got a few compliments on them and though "Why don't I wear them more often?". Last year I donated a few items after the month was over, because I realised I wouldn't wear them anymore, this year though I feel in love with some of my forgotte items. Besides all that, I was also able to have an idea of the colors I wear the most and there aren't many! 

Refashion Month 2016 Wrap Up

I absolutely have to thank deeply all the ladies that took part of this year's edition. I was such a lousy hostess, but they were there for me, and I can't thank them all enough. So please, visit them all if you haven't and show some love because they are worth it. That said, if you're just coming today, let me wrap it up for you. Usually this series take place all through July. This year though, life got pretty much in the way, but as I said thanks to the ladies I mentioned above, I could have it running for at least two weeks. 

Of course I enjoyed seeing what everyone did, or wraped up for us. Vicky had her daughter's help to refashion a long skirt, Joelle did an amazing transformations from men's underwear to boy's shirts, Stephanie upcycled some of her t-shirts.

Liz did this amazing job turning an adult sized hoodie into a child's romper. Michelle wraped up all the refashions she did in the past year, some are pretty impressive and Irene shared a very detailed tutorial on how to refashion a men's button up shirt into a fitted top for women.

Diana gave a new life to a dress that didn't fit her anymore. Heather turned a button up shirt into a skirt for her daughter. Meriel wrapped up a few of her refashions for us, and last but not least, Michelle did a whole outfit using a nightgown for her new top and pair of woven athletic style pants from her husband into pants for herself.

Did you decide already what your favorite was? I am having a hard time doing so. 

As for me, if you're not a regular, I'll tell you I usually commit to make at least one refashion per week for the time the series lasts, but this year though I stuggled not only with personal issues and lack of time, I also struggled with getting my machine to work properly. So, I did share three refashions in two weeks, which is good, but I actually only sewed one up this month. The other ones were made long before. 

It was already July 13th when I posted my first post of the month. Of course it was the kick off of this year's edition and I shared a simple way to upcycle a pair of jeans. I was part of the Desert Island themed Sew 20 tour, and of course I shared some refashioning, this time in swimsuits. And to finish, for the Summer Swimwer tour I refashioned a women's dress into a girl's shorts.

Muitos passeios a parques, praias, jardins, a aproveitar enquanto a Primavera não estava em força, porque assim que isso acontece, o papá deixa de poder andar muito pela rua. Alergias, a treta das alergias. Assim que aqui fica o selecionado para este resumo. Tecidos, comprei dois numa loja local, comprei vários numa loja online. Foi um mês farto de testes a moldes. Em cima, um teste para mim, com uma casa de botão em modo manual, é assim que as faço sempre. Outro teste para mim. Um teste para ela. A primeira coisa feita para o aniversário dela. Partiu as pernas da Barbie, eu arranjei e fiquei com ela. Umas meias feitas e oferecidas por uma amiga talentosa. Visitámos a avó duas vezes. Numa delas com os primos, fizeram bolachinhas. Ela decidiu pregar uma tesourada no cabelo, eu fiz-lhe uma franja. Andei a arrumar os meus tecidos. Uma papoila. Outro teste para ela. O céu da minha terra. Um bolo de caneca com topping de morango. 

There were a lot of trips to parks, beaches and garden, while we could. As soon as Spring comes strong, we avoid being outside (as a family) that much, because daddy can't be near any flowers and trees. Allergies, those damn allergies. So, here we go with the selction for this month. Fabric, I bought two pieces in a local shop, several in an online shop. It was a month of pattern tests. On top, a test for me, with a manual made buttonhole, as I always make them. Another test for me. A test for her. First thing finished for her birthday. She broke her Barbie legs, I sort of fixed it and kept it for myself. I was given a pair of handmade socks from a talented friend. We visited grandma twice. One of those times cousins were there too, they made cookies. She decided to cut her own hair, so I had to make her a fringe. I organized my fabric stash. A poppie. Another test for her. The sky from my town. A mug cake with strawberry topping. 

Quanto a publicações no blog, é com alegria que constato que andou mais mexido. Andava mesmo abandonado nos últimos tempos. Espero continuar a aumentar o ritmo, ou pelo menos, conseguir manter esta frequência. Comecei o mês com mais um podcast (link abaixo), e de seguida um post sobre a Fashion Revolution Week. Após muito tempo de espera, o vestido que fiz para o casamento da minha sobrinha chegou ao blog, com as suas coisas boas, mas também e principalmente as más. Fiz mais uma vez, parte de um grupo de testers para os moldes Momma Quail Patterns, o molde em teste foi o das calças de ganga Billie Jeans, e fiz um par para cada um dos meus filhos. Acabei as publicações de costuras, com a minha versão da Hemlock Tee, molde grátis da Grainline Studio. Mesmo mesmo a terminar o mês, ainda publiquei as bolachas que fiz com a G. como parte do desafio Try Something New Every Month Challenge. As for blog posts, I am very happy to see there were more than lately. It was really slow here. I hope I can keep on growing the number of posts, or at least, keep the same rythm from this month. I started the month with a new podcast (find link below - in portuguese only), and then a post about the Fashion Revolution Week. After a long time waiting, the dress I made for my niece's wedding, finally made it to the blog, with its good thing, but also, and mainly, the bad ones too. I was part of the testers group for Momma Quail Patterns again, this time for the Billie Jeans, and I sewed a pair for each of my kids. I ended the sewing posts, with my version of the Hemlock Tee, a free pattern from Grainline Studio. Right on the end of the month, I posted the cookies I made with G. as part of our Try Something New Every Month Challenge. Click on pictures below to take you to the original posts.

March Wrap Up

Apesar do frio, apesar da Primavera se esquecer que já devia ter chegado, em Março já tivemos uns dias bons de sol, que tentámos aproveitar com os miúdos. Ela é tão pálida que sempre que o sol brilha um pouco mais forte nesta altura, quero é levar a miúda para a rua, a ver se ganha cor. E foi assim que fomos passear para diferentes praias das redondezas. O amigurumi da minha mãe. O S. a brincar com as letras magnéticas, pena que só dura um minuto, depois manda tudo ao chão. Decisões na escolha de algum material. Eles juntos, ele com os legos, ela a cortar papel. Fiz umas calças para ele. Comprei uma malha lindíssima. Visitámos os dinossauros em exposição. Fizemos um coelho da Páscoa. A minha cidade. A minha manta. Limpei a máquina a fundo. Fomos ver a prima no estádio do Algarve. Construímos uma borboleta. Fiz um top para mim (e outras coisas que ainda não posso mostrar). A ver os patos. Manicura Frozen. Acabei o livro enquanto bebia chocolate quente trazido pelo namorido já tarde. Eles, a pintar com pincéis e aguarelas. A macaca na máquina e ela à espera. Um urso de feijões e arroz. Pequeno almoço. Lanche. Primeira pintura dele. 

Quanto ao blog, mais do mesmo... andou bem paradinho. Fiz 4 posts em Março e um deles foi o resumo do mês anterior. Dos três restantes, dois foram de costura e um de como fazer sabonete líquido em casa. As costura que mostrei, foram um vestido, com o molde Holiday Cut Out da Bella Sunshine Designs e as calças de ganga recicladas para o S., o molde é o Walker Jeans da Momma Quail Patterns. Although it is so cold, and Spring seems to forgot it should be here already, we have had a couple sunny days already, that we managed to enjoy with the kids. She's so pale, everytime I see the sun shining, I want to be outside with her, to see if she gets a little tan. And that's how we got to enjoy some walks in a few of the nearby beaches. My mom amigurumi. S. playing with the magnetic letters, too bad it doesn't seem to last longer than a minute, then he throws it all down. Decision on supplies. Them together, he plays with legos, she cuts paper. I made jeans for him. I bought a beautiful knit. We visited the dinossaurus exhibition. We made an Easter rabbit. My town. My blanket. I deep cleaned my machine. We watched my niece playing on the Algarve Stadium. We built a butterfly. I made myself a top (and other things I can't share yet). Watching the ducks. Frozen nails. I finished the book as I drank some hot chocolate the hubby brought me quite late. Them, painting with brushes and watercolors. The monkey was in the washer, she waited. A beans and rice bear. Breakfast. Afternoon snack. His first painting. 

As for the blog, same old same old... it has been really slow. I made 4 posts in March and one of them was the previous month wrap up. From the other three, I made two sewing related posts and one on how to make your own homemade liquid soap. As for the sewing, I shared a Holiday Cut Out dress, pattern from Bella Sunshine Designs and the refashioned Walker Jeans for S., pattern by Momma Quail Patterns. February Wrap Up

Já estamos a meio de Março e tem ficado esquecido partilhar o meu resumo do mês passado. Ora aqui vamos. Foi mês de Carnaval, portanto, tivemos disfarces, Elsa (de compra) para a minha G., um Olaf feito por mim para o S. e ainda uma sereia para a minha sobrinha L. a pedido da mesma. Eu e o V. tivemos um momento daqueles, ele com a coroa da filha e eu com as orelhas da Minnie... desculpem lá qualquer coisinha (NOT!). O S. entreteve-se mais um pouco, adora brincar com as molas, mas é por pouco tempo. Eu andei em organizações de armários novamente (volta e meia lá estou eu, já se sabe) e gostei mesmo de ver duas prateleiras completamente vazias neste particularmente, que estava a abarrotar. Recebi uma rosa no dia de S. Valentim. Um miminho para mim a meio de uma manhã - ou tarde, sei lá eu. Visitámos um parque com alguns animais. Fiz um muslin das calças que publiquei há uns dias, e que ainda está por terminar. Comprei carimbos, um furador e purpurinas já a pensar no aniversários dos meus filhotes. Comecei um projecto de reciclagem com cartão e latas. Experimentei fazer um floco de neve de papel. Pintei com aguarelas, inspirada pelos dotes plásticos da minha filha (o meu tem as rosas, o dela tem a palavra love). Comecei a fazer o meu biquini para este verão... ah... o verão! E para terminar, fiz um bibe para o S. e plastifiquei tecido para o mesmo. 

No blogue as coisas estiveram calmas. Apesar do Project Run & Play ter voltado ao seu formato normal e de eu ter ficado super entusiasmada com isso, só consegui acompanhar a primeira semana com uma túnica para a G. Depois participei no tour da Bella Sunshine Designs com um Gabriella Winter Coat ligeiramente alterado, e para terminar, publiquei a minha peça teste do molde Mori Dress and Top que saiu o mês passado. We're half way through March and I totally forgot to share my wrap up from last month. So, here we go. It was Carnival last month, so we had some costumes here, Elsa (bought it) for my G., a mommy made Olaf for S and a mermaid costume my niece L. requested. V. and I had one of those moments, him with Elsa's crown and I with Minnie ears... excuse any little thing (NOT!). S. got a little busier on his own, he loves the clothespins but not for too long. I've been organizing my cabinets again (as I often do) and it felt really good to find I was left with two completely empty shelves in this particular one. I got a rose for Valentine's. A little treat for me on a morning break - or afternoon who knows? We visited a park with some animals there. I made a muslin for the jeans I posted a few days ago, it is still unfinished. I bought stamps, a puncher and glitter, with my kids birthdays party in mind already. I started a recycling project using cardboxes and cans. I tried to make paper snow flakes for the first time. I painted with watercolour, inspired by my daughter's plastic artist skills (mine is the one with the roses, hers is the one with the word love on it). I started my own bikini for next summer... oh... summer! And to finish, I made my boy a pinny, and I used selfmade plastic fabric for this one. 

Things have been quite in the blog. Although Project Run & Play being back to his original format and all my enthusiasm about it, I was only able to sew along with the first week. I made a tunic for G. Then I was part of Bella Sunshine Designs tour with a Gabriella Winter Coat hack, and to finish, I posted my test piece of the Mori Dress and Top pattern, released last month. January Wrap Up

Em Janeiro, passeámos muito na verdade, agora que olho para as fotos. Fomos à Espanha para ver o desfile dos reis magos, onde os miúdos juntaram sacos de rebuçados. Visitámos vários parques, fomos a jardins, até à praia, na vantagem dos dias de sol. Costurei principalmente para o S. nuns testes a moldes que fiz. Acabei umas calças para ele, só porque sim também, e com um retalhinho desse tecido fiz uma mini carteira para as minhas canetas. Acabei a mala da Barbie para ela. Comprei uns fazedores de pompons e diverti-me a brincar com eles. Comprei umas botas novas. Fiz os meus melhores queques salgados de sempre. Fiz hambúrgueres caseiras muito saudáveis e saborosas. Tal como no ano passado, tirámos um dia em família para passear até Portimão, e aproveitar os saldos para comprar aquelas coisas que não costumo costurar para os miúdos, ou peças para o V. Fiz um novo organizador de acessórios do cabelo para o quarto de banho, e toalhas turbante para as meninas cá de casa. Ela brincou muito com os meus mini pompons. Comprei dois tecidos novos e prometi que me ia controlar mais.

Now that I look at our photos, I realised we did a lot of touring around. We went to Spain for the Reyes Magos parade, where kids got a lot of sweets. We visited several different parks, gardens and the beach, taking advantage of our sunny days. I sewed mainly for S. doing some patterns tests. I finished a pair of pants for him, just because I wanted to and with a small scrap from the same fabric I made a small pencil case for my planner. I finished the Barbie suitcase for my daughter. I bought some pompom makers and have been playing around with them. I bought myself a new pair of boots. I made my best ever salty muffins . I made healthy and tasty homemade hamburgers. Just like last year, we did a family tour to Portimão, and enjoy the sales, buying things I don't usually sew for the kids, and some pieces for V. I made a new hair acessories organizer for the bathroom and turbant towels for the girls in the house. She played a lot with my mini pompoms. I bought two different fabric pieces and promissed myself I would better control myself.

No blog mostrei basicamente projetos feitos anteriormente que nunca tinham sido publicados. Fraldas para nenucos, roupa para a Barbie, uma nova The Heartie e as calças do teste ao molde Spencer Slacks. Depois, partilhei a entrada do mês para o desafio Try Something New Every Month (Experimenta Algo Novo Todos os Meses), com uma nova técnica de Quilting (nova para mim, isto é), neste caso o english paper piecing. 

In the blog, I shared project that had been done before but never posted. Baby doll's diapers, Barbie clothes, a new The Heartie and the Spencer Slacks test pants. Then, I shared my monthly entry for the Try Something New Every Month challenge, with a new to me, Quilting technique, in this case, english paper piecing. 

December Wrap Up

A primeira publicação de 2016, refere-se ao último mês de 2015, mais precisamente ao resumo do que se andou a fazer por aqui e do que chegou ao blogue. Foi, como Dezembro costuma ser sempre, um mês agitado, para compensar o mês anterior. Com os meninos recuperados, houve oportunidade para mais. Mais tempo juntos (as férias da G. ajudaram claro), mais brincadeiras, mais festas... Ora bem, vamos pelas fotos? Comecei um passo a passo para um guest post para breve. Encontrei e comprei 4 revistas anuais do Jamie Oliver por um preço super simpático. Fiz novas barras de cereais, deliciosas por sinal. A minha gata, tão carente que não me pode ver brincar com os miúdos, tem de estar sempre em cima também. Costurei roupa para a Barbie dela. A G. a ler o meu livro de Inês Pedrosa. O S. no meio dos livros. Andei a arrumar os meus botões. Estive numa venda de garagem coletiva. A minha última costura do ano foram umas calças para o S. que estão em teste ainda. A judiar com a gata. Eu e a G. montámos a árvore de Natal. Ela recebeu a Barbie rock star e não podia estar mais feliz. A nossa árvore de dia. O S. a fazer da caravana da irmã, carrinho para ele. Consegui fazer das muitas prendas, coisas simples, mas feitas com carinho, coroas foram quatro, fios perdi a conta, uma boneca de pano, vários macacos de meias a pedido da G., dois volantes de brincar. E ainda costurei para ela.

The first post in 2016, is about the last month of 2015, more specifically th wrap up of what's been done over here and what got to the blog. It was a busy month, as December usually is, it made up for the previous month. With the kids feeling good again, there were more oportunities. More time together (G.'s holidays helped too), more playing, more parties... So, should be check the photos? I sarted a tutorial for a soon to be guest post. I scored four Jamie Oliver magazines for a very nice price. I made new bars, and they were delicious. My cat has been so needing, she's all over us all the time, I can't even play with the kids. I sewed for my daughter's barbie doll. G. reading my Inês Pedrosa book. S. between books. Been organizing my buttons. I was part of a collective garage sale. The last sewing of the year was for a pants pattern test still going. Messing with the cat. G. and I have put up the christmas tree together. She got a Barbie Rock Star and couldn't be happier. Our tree on day light. S. making a car for himself after his sister's doll's van. I managed to handmake a lot of gifts, simple things, but made with love, there were four crown hairclips, I lost track of the necklaces, a fabric dolls, several sockmonkeys, a request from G., two driver's wheels. And I sewed for G.

Fiz uma mala (Radiant Home Studio), uma saia do molde do vestido Sweet Innocence (My Treasured Heirlooms), um conjunto de meias calça (The Wolf and the Tree) e um casaco (Chalk & Notch), um novo look mãe-filha (Golden Rippy) e fui blogger convidada no blog Rebel & Malice com o passo a passo para fazer uma coroa gancho. Para além do já referido, publiquei o 3º episódio do Podcast fiz as minhas listas do melhor, do pior, moldes e designers preferidos e ainda as minhas reflexões sobre o ano que acabou e o que começou (para verem as listas cliquem nos links abaixo da última imagem).

I made a rucksack (Radiant Home Studio), a skirt hacking the Sweet Innocence dress pattern (My Treasured Heirlooms), an outfit with footed tights (The Wolf and the Tree) and a cardigan (Chalk & Notch), a new mom and daughter look (Golden Rippy) and I was a guest blogger over Rebel & Malice with a tutorial on how to make the crown hairclip. Besides all that was already mentioned, I posted the third episode of my Podcast and I made my top lists of the hits, the misses, fave patterns and designers and my reflections on the past and new year ahead (to check my top lists click the links below the last image).

November Wrap Up

Bem sei que já vamos a meio de Dezembro e que isto já deveria ter sido publicado, mas ando especialmente e vergonhosamente preguiçosa para escrever qualquer publicação. Faço as que tenho que fazer porque me comprometi a fazer, mas de resto, vou-me ficando pela vontade, com pena minha. Porém, há coisas que quero publicar, quero mesmo, para não me deixar acabar o ano neste arrastar de preguicite aguda. O resumo do mês passado é um deles, e daqui para a frente, também os meus top 5 de 2015, como tenho feito nos anos anteriores. 

Pois bem, em Novembro, não se fez muito, pois os meninos estiveram ambos doentes, mas ainda assim, houve tempo para brincadeira e gargalhadas. Ela adora o jogo das bolinhas, e cria formas e mais formas. Ele desenhou pela primeira vez, com a ajuda da mamã. Eu tirei uma manhã de domingo só para mim e perdi-me ao sabor do tempo na feira de velharias mensal (sim, comprei botões antigos também). Costurei, uma bata encomendada, um teste a um molde, malas, e mais. Transformei um armário, criei uma mesa de corte improvisada e reciclada. A G. escolheu a prenda de Natal que mais queria e juntou dinheiro para a mesma. E mais que não coube nas fotografias (não andei muito inspirada para pegar na máquina). 

I know we're half way through December already and this should have been posted before, but I've been specially and shamely lazy to write at all. I post whatever I have commited to do/post and that's it, for anything else I just keep postponing, sadly. There are things I don't want to keep leaving behind though, and want to post before the end of the year. Last month's wrap up is one of those things and further on, I will be posting my top 5's from 2015, just like I've been doing in previous years. 

So well, in November we didn't do much because the kids were both sick, still, there was playing and laughter time to enjoy. She loves the balls game, creating shapes and more shapes with it. He made his first drawing with mom's help. I had a whole morning out to myself, and I spent it at the monthly thrift market (yes, I got myself some old buttons). I sewed, an ordered overall, a pattern test, briefcases, etc. I've transformed a cabinet, and recycled and improvised cutting table. G. picked up what she wanted for Christmas and she saved money for it on her own. And more that didn't make it to get photographed (I haven't been too inspired to get my camera). 

   

  

No blog tivemos alguma variedade - para não ser sempre igual. Este mês foi repleto de tours. Aliás, tudo o que partilhei foi inspirado e costurado para tal, à excessão do pap. Apresentei-vos o meu bolo de aniversário inspirado no Dia de los Muertos, organizado pelo blog Rebel & Malice. Seguiu-se uma paleta/puzzle para Swodson Says. Partilhei um pequeno passo a passo em como aplicar uma pegada de felino numa t-shirt. Fiz parte do tour da Momma Quail Patterns, dando um novo look/função para a Just like Papa Briefcase. Fiz 3. Participei do primeiro tour de moldes japoneses organizado pelo blog Made By Sara e para finalizar, o tour ao molde Petit Oiseau, de Filles à Maman, uma camisola perfeita para a minha G. Ainda fui capaz de publicar mais um podcast, o #2. 

In the blog we had some variety - for a change. The month was full of tours. Actually, apart from my little tutorial, everything was inspired and sewed for a tour. I showed you my birthday Dia de Los Muertos cake, for Rebel & Malice's tour. Then I mad the palette/puzzle for Swoodson Says tour. I shared the tutorial for a paw print appliqué on a t-shirt. I was part of Momma Quail Patterns, giving a new use/look to the Just Like Papa Briefcase. I made 3 of them. I was also part of the first japanese patterns tour organized by Made by Sara, and to finish, I was also in the Petit Oiseau pattern tour by Filles à Maman, with a perfect shirts for my G. I have also posted my #2 podcast (in portuguese).

2005 - 2015

Eu gosto de Outubro. É o meu mês de eleição, sempre foi, e não foi só por ter sido o mês em que nasci. Há muito tempo que não tinha um mês como o que passou, em que não fiquei com a sensação que foi tudo a correr. Caminhou ao seu ritmo, sem pressas. Nos dias bons de sol, saímos em família, aproveitámos as poucas horas do dia que temos para ser 4 em vez de 2 ou 3. Logo no início do mês (no mesmo dia que fez 15 meses) o S. começou a andar confiante, começou a fazer outras gacinhas como "esconder-se", anda no baloiço sozinho sem medo, é louco pelos caricas. Num dia que a mana dormiu fora, fomos até à praia. Ela anda a descobrir novas formas de se entreter/brincar sozinha, a sua imaginação desenvolve a uma velocidade incrível. O nosso gato morreu a meio do mês, e a nossa gata, a Wicca, sente imenso a sua falta, tal como eu, e tornou-se tão dependente de mim. 

I really like October. It is my favorite month, it has always been, and not only because it was the month I was born. There's been a while since I had a month like this last one, where I didn't get the impression that it went by running. It passed by on it's own sweet time, no hurries. On the sunny days, we were out as a family, enjoying the few little hours we get to spend together, as four, instead of just two or three. Exactly when he was 15 months S. started to walk confidently, and started doing other funny things as covering his face to "hide away", he swings on his own fearlessly, and he loved Caricas. On a day that big sister had a sleep over, we took him to the beach. she's been discovering new ways to play on her own, and her imaginations grows by the day. Our male cat passed away in the middle of the month, and our female cat, Wicca, misses him badly, as well as myself, and she's so dependent on me. 

No resumo de Setembro, prometi-vos um Outubro mais movimentado pelo blog, e cumpri a minha promessa. Comecei com a surpresa de aniversário para a Sara, depois seguiram-se várias tours de moldes, tanto para a princesa G. como para mim. A primeira com a Itch to Stitch, onde fiz um macacão em veludo para mim. Seguiu-se as calças largas da Jocole, que no dia das fotos aproveitei para combinar com mais um Phresh Blazer da Winter Wear Designs, feito anteriormente mas nunca publicado antes, que descrevi em pormenor num post separado. Foi com imenso prazer que fiz parte da Ottobre tour, com mais 14 bloggers portuguesas para festejar os 15 anos da revista. Fiz um pijama para o S. e umas calças para a G. também atualizei uma t-shirt para combinar. Partilhei finalmente o vestido e o bolo do aniversário da minha filha em Junho e fechei o mês com mais uma tour, desta vez com as M is for Motto Joggers da Hatchlings Patterns. A grande novidade foi o primeiro episódio do podcast. Carreguem nas fotos para vos levar ao post original. 

In September's wrap up I promissed October would be busier around here, and I kept the promise. I started it with the surprise birthday post for Sara, then a few pattern tours follows, with things made for my princess or myself. It started with Itch to Stitch, where I got to make a velvet romper for me.Then there were the wideleg pants by Jocole, and in the photoshooting day, I paired it with another Phresh Blazer by Winter Wear Designs I had previously made but not blogged about, it had its own post after that. It was such a pleasure for me to be part of the Ottobre tour, with another 14 portuguese bloggers to celebrate the magazine's 15th anniversary. I made a pajama for S. and pants for G, I also upcycled a t-shirt to match. I finally shared the dress and cake I made for my daughter's birthday back in June and closed the month with another tour, with the M is for Motto Joggers by Hatchlings Patterns. The big news was my first podcast episode, unfortunately that one is only for my portuguese readers. Sorry! Click images to take you to original post.
