Acho que conseguem perceber pelas fotos que as mesmas não são recentes, na verdade, já devem ter uns dois anos. Testei estes dois moldes, tirei as fotos, e comecei este post mas nunca cheguei a escrever sobre ele. Como acredito que vale mesmo a pena, fui resgatá-lo dos rascunhos e aqui estamos finalmente. 

I don't think there is a doubt that these pictures aren't any recent, in fact, I think they are about two years old now. I tested these two patterns, took pictures of the pieces and started this post, but I never got arounf to write it down. Since I believe this is worth it though, I rescued this from my drafts and here we are at last. 

Os moldes em questão, fazem parte do conjunto Zou Playsuit, constituídos por um top (The Zou Crop top) e uns calções balão (The Super Bubble Culottes), ambos cheios de detalhes, que os tornam únicos. A designer que os criou é a Kat, da Sew Chibi, como não podia deixar de ser. Os seus moldes espelham sempre um mundo encantado, cheio de fantasia como os mais pequenos gostam. A minha filha, gosta tanto deste conjunto que mesmo passados dois anos, continua a ser um dos seus preferidos. Já começa a ficar um pouco pequeno mas ainda assim, continua a querer vesti-lo. 

Those patterns, are part of the Zou Playsuit ensemble, including a top (The Zou Crop top) ,and some bubble cullotes (The Super Bubble Culottes), both full of details, which make them unique. The designer behind the patterns is Kat, from Sew Chibi, of course. Her patterns always mirror that  children's fantasy enchanted world. My daughter loves hers so much, that even though two years have gone, it is still one of her faves. It starts to get a bit tight already but she insists in wearing it still. 

Eu escolhi adicionar todas as opções mais divertidas do molde... a tromba do elefante na frente do top (e tem lá um bolso!), tal como os folhos/orelhas e a pequena coroa no ombro e o rabo destacável na parte de trás dos calções e os lacinhos na parte da frente onde a tromba se pode prender. 

I chose to make the option with all the cool features... the elephants trunk on the top's front (there's a pocket in there!), as well as the frills/ears and the little crown on the shoulder and detachable tail on the short's back, and the front little ties, where you can attach the trunk. 

Se quisermos também podemos deixar todas estas opções de fora e fazer apenas o top, que tem uma forma larga e descontraída, de forma simples, com color-bloking ou não. O mesmo se aplica aos calções, que são bastante franzidos, com elástico na cintura e completamente forrados. 

You can also skip the cool features and make a simple top, this is a boxy and comfy style, suitable for color bloking or not. The same happens for the shorts, which are pretty gathered, with an elastic waist and fully lined. 

Uma coisa vos garanto... por aqui foi e continua a ser um sucesso total.

One thing I am sure... it was and still is a success around here. 

The Umaru Shirt |pattern by Sew Chibi|

Ao ver a minha filha sair hoje de casa vestindo esta blusa, lembrei-me que já a tinha feito há imenso tempo e que (COMO?) ainda não a tinha publicado. Foi há tanto tempo, que nem sequer me lembro bem quando é que a fiz exatamente e agora já lhe está a ficar curta (hoje foi provavelmente a última vez que a vestiu).

My daughter left the house this morning wearing this shirt and that made me realise I have made it like a life ago and (HOW?) I haven't posted about it yet. It was so long ago, I can't even remember exactly when I made it and it's now getting too short for her (today was probably her last time wearing it). 

Então, este é o molde Umaru Shirt, da super criativa Kat, dos moldes Sew Chibi. Já todos sabem que adoro o seu trabalho, não é? Bem, na verdade eu testei toda a coleção Umaru mas não publiquei nenhuma das peças. Além disso também testei outros moldes da Kat que nunca foram partilhados, tenho mesmo que começar a tratar disso. 

So, this is the Umaru Shirt, a pattern by the super creative Kat from Sew Chibi. You all know I love Kat's work, don't you? Well, I tested the full Umaru collection but fail to post any of it. I also tested other patterns for Kat, I have to start posting them all. 

Ó céus, o cabelo da minha filha estava tão curto aqui. E ainda tinha os dentes de leite. 😏 Adiante... o Umaru Shirt é um molde unisexo que pode ser personalizado de mil formas diferentes. Vai do tamanho 12/18M até aos 16A (o que significa que até para mim deve dar). 

Oh my gosh, my daughter's hair was so short here. And she still had her baby teeth. 😏Anyway... The Umaru shirt is a gender neutral pattern that you can costumise in thousands of different ways. It starts at size 12/18M and goes up to size 16Y (which means it'll fit me if I try to). 

Diverti-me imenso a costurar esta peça, escolhendo das opções disponíveis, e a minha filha, não poderia ter gostado mais. Lembro-me de ela a levar para a escola no dia após eu a ter feito e ter chegado maravilhada no fim do dia porque todos os amiguinhos não pararam de lhe dizer que era muito fixe e que adoravam as "orelhas". 

I had a lot of fun sewing this one, picking options and all that and my daughter couldn't love it better. I remember she took this to school the day after I finished and she came back so fascinated because all her friends kept telling her how cool her shirt was, and they loved the "ears". 

Então, para a fazer usei tecido que já tinha, são ambos iguais. Para as mangas e costas usei um floral para a tornar mais menininha e porque queria aproveitar o que tinha. Não tenho bem a certeza já, mas creio que é um tamanho 6, e estava perfeito na altura. Agora tem quase 8 e como disse acima, já começa a ficar pequeno. 

So, to make it I used fabric from my stash, they are the same. For the sleeves and back I used a flowerly fabric to make it more girly for her and because I wanted to use what I had. I'm not sure anymore but I believe this is a size 6 and the fit was perfect. She's almost 8 now and as I said above, sleeves are getting too short for her. 

O molde vem os os moldes para pintar a blusa. Claro que é opcional, como aliás imensos outros atributos, que tenho a certeza vos darão vontade de experimentar. Colorbloking ou não, mangas curtas ou compridas, com pintura ou sem (e aqui também são várias as opções), bolsos escondidos na frente ou não, eu fiz nesta já agora... Posso dizer-vos que por cá, foi um grande sucesso. Talvez seja altura de fazer uma nova?!

The pattern comes with all this templates to paint on the shirt. Of course it is optional, it has lots of options so you're going to want and try some I'm sure. Colorblocking, no colorblocking, long sleeves, short sleeves, painted, not painted (several options here too), secret front pockets, no secret front pockets, I made them here by the way... I can tell you this was a huge win here. Maybe it's time to make a new one?!

Depois do Ichigo Bomber Jacket para o meu filho e do vestido Up Beet Tee & Dress para a minha filha, só faltava mostrar a terceira peça que testei, as calças Turn Up Trousers, também da Petit a Petit & Family, e que fazem parte da primeira Coleção cápsula de moldes do Project Run & Play. 

After the Ichigo Bomber Jacket I made for my son, and the Up Beet Tee & Dress I made for my daughter, the only pattern left to share, from all three I tested from the first Capsule Wardrobe Pattern Collection over at Project Run & Play, was the Turn Up Trousers, a pattern also by Petit a Petit & Family.

Desta vez foi para o miúdo, no tamanho 4 anos. Ficaram um pouco longas, já que o suposto é baterem ali no tornozelo, mas a criança sai aos seus e é baixinho. Apesar disso, adoramos todos como ficam as calças novas e já as vestiu um par de vezes, naqueles dias de verão que vão aparecendo no meio dos dias de inverno desta primavera. 

This time I made it for my son in a size 4. It's a bit too long on him because they are supposed to hit the ankle, but shortness runs in the family and he is no exception. Despite that, we all loved the fit of the trousers, and he has worn it a couple of times, in those summer days that have been showing between the wintery days from this spring time.

Pattern Features:
The Turnip Up Trousers & Shorts are cropped tapered trousers with a funnel drawstring and turned up hem, perfect for everyday.

Para as calças, usei um tecido de linho que tinha no monte há algum tempo, já nem me recordo bem qual foi a sua origem. No reforço dos joelhos e nos bolsos do lado, usei um retalho de uma malha com pouca elasticidade, num castanho chocolate para contrastar com o tecido principal. Nos pequenos retalhos que decoram as calças e lhe dão tanta personalidade, usei também restinhos de outro linho que andava por cá. 

I used a linen fabric I had in my stash for a while, I can't even tell where it came from. For the knee patches and the side pockets I used a so so stretchy knit scraps I had, in a chocolate brown color to contrast the main fabric. The patches sewn to the pants give it quite a bit of personality are also small scraps I already had. 

A cintura é em malha e tem elastico e um cordão para apertar. Mais uma vez usei o que já tinha, neste caso um atacador nunca usado. Uma das coisas que mais gostei foi do acabamento com viés na baínha que vira para fora. Dá um ar mais limpo e profissional à peça, não é? As calças (ou na opção calção) são muito práticas e mesmo boas para os dias mais quentes. Tenho cá para mim que ainda vou ter que fazer mais uma ou duas. Gostei mesmo do modelo. 

It has a knit band waist with an elastic and drawstring. Again I used what I already had and in this case, the drawstring was one from a pair of shoe-ties. One of the things I like the most is the hong kong finishing in the rolled hems. It gives the trousers a clean look and sorta profissional, right? The trousers (or shorts option) are pretty comfortable and great for warmer days. I'm thinking I might have to make a couple more. I really loved the design.

Quando publiquei o Ichigo Bomber Jacket que fiz para o meu filho, mencionei que o molde fazia parte da primeira Coleção cápsula de moldes do Project Run & Play. Disse também que fiz parte dos testes de três destes moldes. Hoje venho partilhar o segundo, o molde de um vestido ou blusa, da Petit a Petit & Family, a Up Beet Tee & Dress.  

When I posted about the Ichigo Bomber Jacket  I made for my son, I mentioned the pattern was part of the first Capsule Wardrobe Pattern Collection over at Project Run & Play. I also told you I was one of the testers for three of these patterns. Today I am posting the second one, a pattern for a shirt or a dress by Petit a Petit & Family, the Up Beet Tee & Dress. 

Fiz a versão em vestido para a minha filha, no tamanho sete. Ela não poderia ter gostado mais. Quando o experimentei nela para tirar fotos da prova ela recusou-se a tirá-lo, por isso lá a convenci a voltar a vestir mas com camadas para a proteger do tempo frio. A verdade é que gostámos muito do look também. Está lá acima na primeira foto, ou no fim, na última. 

I made the dress option on a size 7 for my daughter. She couldn't love it better. I tired it on her for fit photos and she refused to take it off. The weather was too cold yet so I had to convince her to layer it so we could go out. We were pretty happy about the layared look too. It's on the first photo above, or the last below. 

As mangas trazem três tamanhos diferentes, eu fiz as 3/4. Os acabamentos também são vários à escolha e os bolsos são opcionais. Eu inclui-os nesta peça, não o fiz exatamente como é indicado no molde porque não percebi, mas foi apenas uma questão técnica, já resolvida. 

The sleeves come in three different sizes, I made the 3/4 ones. There are multiple choice options for all finishings and the pockets are optional too. I included them in. I haven't exactly followed the tutorial instructions here because I missunderstood the wrtting, but it has been fixed now. 

O tecido do corpo também veio dos tais tecidos que a minha amiga P. me deu. Nos últimos posts tenho-me apercebido que praticamente só tenho usado os que ela me deu... ahahah... mas foram vários, e é um crime não os usar... Enfim, apesar de rosa - que não é d'um todo a nossa cor preferida, ambas gostámos muito dele e assim, usado no vestido, resultou muito bem. 

Well, despite the pink - which is not our favorite color at all, we both really liked it as a dress, it worked pretty well. This fabric is also one of those my friend P. gave to me. In the lastest posts I've realised I've been mainly using fabrics she gave to me... ahahaha... But those were a few, and it's a crime not to use them. 

Já para as mangas, usei o resto do tecido que já tinha usado aqui, e que possivelmente ainda poderão ver em mais qualquer coisa mais tarde, pois ainda sobrou. Comprei-o na The Sweet Mercerie. 

As for the sleeves, I used a left over piece of fabric that I had previously used here too. It's possible for it to make an appearance around here sometime again, because I still have some left. I bought it at The Sweet Mercerie. 

Button Up Pencil Skirt

Porque Março já está perto de acabar, andava eu aqui a ver umas fotos das minhas roupas feitas à mão, para participar novamente no #MeMadeMade, quando me deparei com uma saia que fiz há já quase três anos e que ainda não tinha chegado ao blog. Como nunca é demasiado tarde para mim, aqui vai. Apresento-vos a minha versão da Button Up Pencil Skirt. 

March is almost over and I was going through some photos of #memades, with #MeMadeMay on my head already, when I came across this skirt I made almost three years ago and has never made it to the blog. It's never too late, I think, so here it is. Meet my version of the Button Up Pencil Skirt. 

Esta saia é muito versátil. O tecido que usei (que tem alguma elasticidade) foi-me oferecido por uma amiga que me disse que era para fazer algo para mim, e para honrar o pedido, foi o que fiz. Usei-o quando me apareceu a oportunidade de testar este molde para The Ruffle Stitch, e não poderia ter corrido melhor porque dá para a usar todo o ano. 

This is a very versatile skirt. The fabric I used (slightly stretchy) was a gift from a friend, I remember she told me I should make something for myself with it. I wanted to honor that, and that's exactly what I did. When the chance came to test this pattern for The Ruffled Stitch, I used this fabric and couldn't be happier because I wear it all year long. 

O molde vem com duas opções diferentes. Na primeira tem carcela e botões de cima a baixo na parte da frente e encaixe e bolsos na parte de trás. A outra tem uma carcela parcial na frente e é simples atrás. Fiz a segunda opção e dá para a vestir mais compostinha ou mais descontraída. 

The pattern comes in two different versions. One has a full front button placket with the back featuring a slanted yoke and back pockets. The other has a partial front button placket and simple back. I made the second option and I love how I can dress it up or down. 

Não tenho nenhuma foto que dê para ver de perto os botões, mas são maravilhosos. Foram também prenda da mesma amiga e são como um tesouro para mim. Tem um ar tão vintage. 

I don't have a close up of those buttons, but they are so precious. They were also a gift from the same friend and I really treasure them. They looked pretty vintage. 

Como já disse, é possível vestir esta saia durante o ano inteiro, o que para mim vale muito. E tenho-a vestido muito. Cada vez que o faço penso em encurtar a altura por questões de gosto pessoal, mas só me lembro disso quando a visto. Quem sabe o faço um dia destes.

As I said, I am able to wear it all year around, which is great. And I have been wearing it a lot since I made it. I just feel like I rather make it a little shorter. I think about it everytime I wear it, but haven't come around to make it yet. Maybe sometime soon.

Já ouviram falar da primeira Coleção cápsula de moldes do Project Run & Play? Se não, vale mesmo a pena darem uma espreitadela. Bem, eu fiz parte dos testes de três destes moldes, e devo dizer que, agora que vi toda a coleção, eles são mesmo os meus favoritos. *sinto-me felizarda* E o primeiro molde desses três que testei foi o Ichigo Bomber Jacket da Sew Chibi.

Have you heard about the first Capsule Wardrobe Pattern Collection over at Project Run & Play? If not, you might want to visit the page and learn all about it. Well, I was one of the testers for three of these patterns, and I have to say, now that I see the entire collection (check out the picture below), they are exactly my faves. *Lucky me* And the first of the three was this Ichigo Bomber Jacket by Sew Chibi. 

Não devia ser novidade o quanto gosto dos moldes Sew Chibi, porque são sempre uma briza de ar fresco, originais, diferentes de tudo o que há por ai. A Kat cria-os com amor e muito trabalho. Além disso, é uma pessoa impecável e tão inspiradora. Já testei outros moldes dela, mas infelizmente nunca cheguei a publicar no blog, coisa que continuo a querer fazer mesmo que já os tenha costurado talvez há mais de um ano. 

It should be no big news that I really love Sew Chibi's patterns, for the fact that they are always a breeze of fresh air, original, different from anything else out there. Kat puts a lot of love and work in her designs. Besides, she's an adorable person, and so very inspiring. I did test a few other patterns for her in the past that never made it to the blog but although it has been over a year ago, I still want to share those with you, and hopefully I'll do that soon. 

De volta à peça de hoje, como já disse, este é o Ichigo Bomber Jacket. Desta vez o modelo foi o meu filho e gosto imenso como lhe assenta. Fiz o tamanho 4 e fica mesmo bem. Nem sempre acontece ele vestir a sua idade (normalmente é mais pequeno) mas este serve perfeitamente. * A respeito da foto acima, o molde original não apresenta nenhuma costura na barra da cintura, acontece que eu não tinha tecido suficiente e acabei por unir retalhos. 

Back to today's piece, as I said before, here's the Ichigo Bomber jacket. I made it for my son this time and I am very pleased with how it looks on him. I made him a size 4 and it's the perfect fit. It doesn't always happen that he fits his age (usually smaller) but it fits perfectly indeed. *About the above photo... the original pattern has no seam in the waist band, but I was almost done when I realised I didn't have enough of that knit so I patched. 

Adoro como o corte asimétrico no desenho do molde nos permite brincar com os tecidos. Ao contrário da Kat (a designer), eu sou a fazer de cores sólidas e mais escuras, por isso usei o tecido às riscas preto e cinzento que comprei há um par de anos. Só tinha meio metro, e estava a guardá-lo porque gostava tanto dele e tinha tão pouco. Tinha também há pouco tempo comprado o cinzento escuro, sólido, que era precisamente o mesmo tipo do outro e ficavam ambos tão bem juntos, por isso, a escolha estava feita.

I love how the assimetrical cut allows us for a fun colorblocking. Contrary to Kat (the designer), I am all about solids and more darker colour, so I went with this black and grey striped fabric I had bought a couple of years ago. I only had half a meter of it, and was saving it. I guess, I was afraid to cut it because I loved it so much and had so little. I had recently purchased the solid grey which was the same type of fabric, and they looked great together, so I went for it. 

Usei detalhes em azul na gola, nas faixas e nas molas por cause dos olhos azuis do miúdo. Adoro quando ele veste esta cor porque faz com que sobressaiam. Mas, também foi porque a malha azul que usei era a que tinha mais apropriada ao destino. O único tecido que me arrependo de usar, foi a malha dos bolsos embutidos. É verde escuro com uns astronautas, e não sei porquê, na altura achei que seria boa ideia usá-lo. Na minha cabeça isto ia resultar... pois, não. 

I used blue details on the collar, bands and snaps because of my boy's blue eyes. I always love it when he wears blue because it makes his eyes colour pop. Also because it was one of the most approriate type of knit I had for this parts, only they were scraps. The only fabric I regret a bit using once I looked at the finished piece, was the welt pockets one. It was dark grey with astronauts, and I don't know why, I thought it was a good choice. In my head it would work... only, I think it didn't. 

Além dos bolsos embutidos, há mais um bolso na frente do caso, no lado esquerdo. Fiquei tão feliz com as minhas riscas todas casadas. Não se nota que adoro riscas? Reconhecem a camisola que ele veste por debaixo do casaco? Foi por coincidência que a tinha vestida no dia que acabei o casaco e fomos tirar as fotos, mas também fui eu que a fiz, aqui. 

Besides the welt pockets, there is a front pocket on the left side. I was so happy with my stripes matching. Can you tell I love stripes? Do you recognise his shirt underneath the jacket? It was a coincidence that he was wearing it the same day I finished the jacket and put it on him for the shooting, but it's one I made him too, here. 

Boxy Boyfriend Tee #2

Uma vez que no último post vos mostrei uma das duas t-shirts que fiz quando testei o molde Boxy Boyfriend Tee (EYMM), fazia todo o sentido mostrar a outra também. Gosto imenso das duas, mas há detalhes nesta que a fazem um pouco melhor a meu ver. 

Since I showed you one of the Boxy Boyfriend Tee (EYMM) I tested in my latest post, it makes totally sence to post the second one now. I really love both but this one has a few little details that makes it a bit better, at least for me. 

Para começar sempre que a visto lembro-me de uma amiga querida porque foi ela quem me ofereceu o tecido. É um pouco transparente e nesta peça eu preferia que não fosse, ainda assim não o suficiente para eu não gostar dela e vestir vezes sem conta como tenho feito desde o primeiro dia. Poderão lembrar-se dele daqui também. Fiz a gola em V, e adicionei um minúsculo bolso com o padrão inverso à peça para lhe dar algum destaque. 

To start, every time I wear it, I remind myself of a dear friend because she offered me the fabric I used to make it. It is a bit see through, and it'd rather not for me for this piece, still not quite enough to make me not love it and wear it over and over as I have been doing since day one. You might remember this fabric from here too. I made the V neck option here, and added a tiny pocket on the front, using the stripes from the fabric on a different direction for contrast. 

Na lateral optei por fazer a pequena abertura tal como na versão anterior por ser um detalhe do qual gosto bastante (e sim, a frente é mais curta que a parte de trás). Além disso, não sei se conseguem ver, mas não consigo deixar de me babar com as linhas todas certinhas nas costuras laterais. 

I did the split hem again as I did in the previous version because that's a detail I really like (and yes, the front is shorter than the back piece). Besides, I don't know if you can see it, but I can't stop drooling over my matched stripes on the side seams. 

Boxy Boyfriend Tee #1

Disse-vos antes que ainda tinha coisas de 2018 por publicar?! Oh, eu tenho é uma série delas ainda de 2017 também (e se calhar ainda mais velhas), quanto mais de 2018. Vou começar por uma peça que talvez já tenham visto no meu instagram e que eu adoro, adoro, adoro. Umas das duas Boxy Boyfriend Tee, cujo molde testei para a EYMM. 

Did I tell you I still had stuff from 2018 to post?! Oh 2081, I still have stuff from 2017 too (or even older). I will start with something that you might have seen on my instagram before, and that I love, love, love. It is one of the Boxy Boyfriend Tee I made while testing the pattern for EYMM. 

Eu acho este molde perfeito, se calhar porque é mesmo o tipo de roupa que eu visto no meu dia a dia, bastante casual, leve e com a qual me sinto mesmo bem (geralmente os moldes EYMM costumam entrar nos meus preferidos). Esta t-shirt em particular vem em 11 tamanhos diferentes e fica bem a toda a gente. Tem 3 tipos de gola diferentes, 3 bainhas diferentes e outros acabamentos para personalizar ao nosso gosto. 

I think this is a perfect pattern, maybe because this is pretty much my style on a daily basis, pretty casual, light and making me feel really good about wearing it (usually that's why EYMM patterns make it to my faves). This tee particularly comes in 11 different sizes and it fits everyone so good. It has 3 different neck versions, 3 different hems and other finish touches to make it our own. 

Nesta em particular, usei a gola redonda, as mangas normais e a abertura nas costuras laterais. O tecido é uma malha leve, já nem me recordo se a comprei ou se a recebi de uma amiga, muito sinceramente, mas é leve e macia ao toque. Já foi usada imensas vezes e continua em perfeito estado. Quando o tempo começar a aquecer novamente pretendo fazer mais uma ou duas destas, mas por enquanto continua demasiado frio para sequer pensar nisso. 

In this one particularly, I used the crew neck option, plain sleeves and slipt hem. This fabric is a light knit I can't honestly even remember if I bought it or if I got it from a friend, but it is light and soft to the touch. It has been worn over and over and it still looks as good. One more or two are on my plans for whenever it starts to get warmer, for now, it is too cold to even think about it. 

Girl's Sport Skort

Estava aqui a tentar lembrar-me há quanto tempo tinha testado um molde antes deste que partilho hoje, e a verdade é que não me consigo lembrar. Parece ter sido há uma eternidade. Não interessa... eu ando pouco atenta às chamadas para testes, no entanto e felizmente, deparei-me com a última da Thread Faction Studio, para o novo molde #126 Girls Sport Skort. Não preciso dizer novamente o quanto eu gosto dos moldes da Liz, pois não? 

I was here trying to remember when was the last time I tested a pattern before the one I am just to tell you about, but truth is I can't remember. Feels like ages ago. Anyway... I am not so aware of new testing calls as I was before, but I was lucky to come across the latest one from Thread Faction Studio, for the latest #126 Girls Sport Skort pattern. I don't have to tell you again how much I love Liz's patterns, do I?  

Eu fiz a mais fácil das cinco versões diferentes neste molde, que é a da saia em semi circulo. O molde é mais uma vez, óptimo e conquistou certamente a miúda cá de casa. Estava louca ao perceber que esta não era uma saia banal,  e que por baixo tinha os calções. Nas suas palavras "mãe, já posso correr e saltar à vontade que não se vão ver as minhas cuecas!". Sim, ela adorou. 

So, I did the easiest version from the five different style options on this pattern, the half circle skirt. The pattern is again great as always and a winner as much as my daughter can tell. She was beyond excited when she realised it was no ordinary skirt, it had shorts underneath and in her own words "mom, now I can run and jump, and my underwear won't show!". Yes, she loved it. 

Usei uma malha mais quente para a saia embora ache que o molde é muito mais direccionado para a primavera ou verão, só que eu tinha de o fazer e fotografar agora, por isso lá foi (é a mesma malha que usei aqui). Não estava nada segura que ficasse bem com collants, mas lá experimentámos. Inicialmente estranhei, mas depois habituei-me e não acho que fique mal d'um todo. Além do bónus que é segurar as collants para não escorregarem. 

I used a warmer knit because although I see this skort as a more spring/summer like garment, I was sewing it right when we're heading into winter, and I had to take photos too (That's the same knit I used here by the way). I had no idea if this would work with tights, but I had to try. At first I thought it looked weird, but then I got used to it. It's fine. And as a bonus, it keeps the tights from sliding.

O tema do Project Run and Play era "Crafting a Estória" (algo como, "criar uma estória" e na minha cabecinha estava tudo delineado. Antes de mais, deixem-me que vos diga: 1. temos um casamento no próximo mês e eu quero vestir vermelho (normalmente a miúda combina comigo). 2. a Capuchinho vermelho sempre foi um preferido cá em casa (vermelho!). 3. Estava a testar o mais novo molde da E&E Patterns. 

The theme for the second week of Project Run and Play was "Crafting a Story" and in my head I had it all figured out. First of all, let me tell you: 1. we have a wedding next month and I want my outfit to be red (usually her dress matches mine). 2. Red riding hood is a all time favorite around here (red!). 3. I was testing the newest pattern by E&E Patterns. 

No entanto não queria ser demasiado óbvia e fazer-lhe uma capa vermelha, a minha ideia era mais fazer-lhe um vestido para o casamento com um blazer vermelho. Para o irmão tinha planeado fazer uma camisola lobo (um molde da Ottobre) e seria óptimo. Mais uma vez, quis fazer mais do que consegui e acabei por ficar-me pelo vestido. Mas para que saibam, ao menos acabei os calçoes da semana passada pois a miúda queria-os muito.

I didn't want to be too obvious though and make her a red hood, my idea was more of making her a dress for the wedding and then a blazer in red. For his brother I wanted to wake a wolf shirt (a pattern from Ottobre) and it would be great. Again, I wanted to do more than I couldn't and I was left with the dress alone. For your information though, I was able to sew the shorts from last week, since my girl wanted them so much. 

O molde é o Montrose Dress que saiu há apenas uns dias atrás. Ainda que as medidas da minha fossem precisamente as de um seis, eu fiz-lhe um tamanho acima para ter alguma folga caso a miúda cresça, já que não pára de o fazer (como todos os miúdos, eu sei!). Penso que o vestido é mesmo perfeito para o casamento principalmente quando lhe fizer o blazer vermelho.

This is the Montrose Dress Pattern, released just a couple of days ago. Although my daughter's measurements put her at a size 6, I made size 7 to have a little ease and room to grow - since she's constantly growing (as most kids I know!). I think this will look perfect for the wedding when I make her a little red blazer too. 

De volta ao vestido, já não posso precisar de onde veio este tecido. Creio estar certa quando digo que acho que veio junto com tantos outros que me foram dados por uma leitora do blog há uns tempos atrás. O tecido é magnifico, muito macio e com alguns fios bem finos prateados que dão um brilho muito bonito à peça. O seu único problema é ser transparente, por isso tive que forrar o vestido por completo e não só no topo como indica o molde. Este molde, tem também a opção de bolsos embutidos nas laterais e uma gola em folho, mas dispensei ambas as opções porque aqui achei que o menos era mais. Claro que adorava fazer uma versão com bolsos também, este é um daqueles vestidos que todas as miúda deveriam ter vários, tem tanta roda.

Back to the dress, I can't be sure anymore where the fabric came from. I have an impression that it came in a donation of loads of fabric pieces I got from a reader a while ago, but I really can't be sure anymore. This is an amazing fabric, so soft and with some very thin silver threads which add a special glow to the piece. The only problem is that it is pretty see through, so my dress has a full lining, in the original pattern only the bodice is. The pattern has optional inseam pockets and a ruffle collar too, which I skipped because here I went by the less is more rule. Of course I'd love to make a pockets version too, this is one of those twirling dresses every girl need at least a few of them.

Para terminar, dizer que o meu pesadelo quando costuro são os fechos, especialmente os invisivéis, e com tecido que escorrega um pouco, but correu bem. Não ficou perfeito, perfeito, mas melhor que o habitual. Infelizmente tirámos estas fotos assim que acordou por isso não estava muito satisfeita e foi tudo muito rápido... Gostava que o tempo estivesse um bocadinho mais primaveril mas chove lá fora neste momento e continua frio. =(

To finish, I always struggle with zippers, especially invisible zippers, on a slightly slippery fabric, but I did good. Not perfect by any means, but much better than usual. Sadly we took these photos first thing in the morning and it had to be quick... she wasn't too happy about it. I wish the weather was more Spring-like, to have her wearing this outside and take some very nice shoots, but it's raining outside and cold. =(
