Acho que conseguem perceber pelas fotos que as mesmas não são recentes, na verdade, já devem ter uns dois anos. Testei estes dois moldes, tirei as fotos, e comecei este post mas nunca cheguei a escrever sobre ele. Como acredito que vale mesmo a pena, fui resgatá-lo dos rascunhos e aqui estamos finalmente. 

I don't think there is a doubt that these pictures aren't any recent, in fact, I think they are about two years old now. I tested these two patterns, took pictures of the pieces and started this post, but I never got arounf to write it down. Since I believe this is worth it though, I rescued this from my drafts and here we are at last. 

Os moldes em questão, fazem parte do conjunto Zou Playsuit, constituídos por um top (The Zou Crop top) e uns calções balão (The Super Bubble Culottes), ambos cheios de detalhes, que os tornam únicos. A designer que os criou é a Kat, da Sew Chibi, como não podia deixar de ser. Os seus moldes espelham sempre um mundo encantado, cheio de fantasia como os mais pequenos gostam. A minha filha, gosta tanto deste conjunto que mesmo passados dois anos, continua a ser um dos seus preferidos. Já começa a ficar um pouco pequeno mas ainda assim, continua a querer vesti-lo. 

Those patterns, are part of the Zou Playsuit ensemble, including a top (The Zou Crop top) ,and some bubble cullotes (The Super Bubble Culottes), both full of details, which make them unique. The designer behind the patterns is Kat, from Sew Chibi, of course. Her patterns always mirror that  children's fantasy enchanted world. My daughter loves hers so much, that even though two years have gone, it is still one of her faves. It starts to get a bit tight already but she insists in wearing it still. 

Eu escolhi adicionar todas as opções mais divertidas do molde... a tromba do elefante na frente do top (e tem lá um bolso!), tal como os folhos/orelhas e a pequena coroa no ombro e o rabo destacável na parte de trás dos calções e os lacinhos na parte da frente onde a tromba se pode prender. 

I chose to make the option with all the cool features... the elephants trunk on the top's front (there's a pocket in there!), as well as the frills/ears and the little crown on the shoulder and detachable tail on the short's back, and the front little ties, where you can attach the trunk. 

Se quisermos também podemos deixar todas estas opções de fora e fazer apenas o top, que tem uma forma larga e descontraída, de forma simples, com color-bloking ou não. O mesmo se aplica aos calções, que são bastante franzidos, com elástico na cintura e completamente forrados. 

You can also skip the cool features and make a simple top, this is a boxy and comfy style, suitable for color bloking or not. The same happens for the shorts, which are pretty gathered, with an elastic waist and fully lined. 

Uma coisa vos garanto... por aqui foi e continua a ser um sucesso total.

One thing I am sure... it was and still is a success around here. 

Thread Faction | Pattern #203 - Ladies Sports Skort -

Ando a tentar costurar mais para mim novamente. Não tenho a mente em planos concretos, existem algumas coisas que gostava de fazer, mas aceito as sugestões que me forem aparecendo pelo caminho, desde que goste, claro. E foi assim que acabei por costurar para mim uma saia-calção.

One thing I've been trying hard to do lately is getting back to sew more often for myself. I haven't set any specific goals. There are a few things I'd like to make, but I will accept suggestions along the way, as long as I enjoy them of course. And that's how I ended up sewing myself a sport skort. 

Quem me conhece bem, sabe que não sou nada dada ao desporto. Isso sim, sou mais do tipo quietinha a ler, ou a criar algo. Acontece que a Liz andava à procura de testers para um novo molde, #203 Ladies Sport Skirt, e acontece que eu já o tinha feito na versão de criança. Lembro-me da minha irmã dizer que adorava ter uma igual depois de ver a da sobrinha, e pensei que poderia fazer parte do teste e mais tarde fazer-lhe uma também. 

If you know me, then you know I am not a sport girl at all. I'm rather the quiet one sitting at home reading a book or crafting something. But the thing is, Liz was looking for testers for her newest pattern, #203 Ladies Sport Skirt, and it happens that I tested the kid's version too. I remember my sister saying she wanted one like her niece's, and I thought about testing this one on me and maybe later make her one as well. 

Além disso, à medida que o tempo for aquecendo, pretendo passar mais tempo no exterior com os miúdos. Não digo que me torne agora toda desportiva, não mesmo, mas temos que aproveitar bem este nosso sol Algarvio, e sempre se corre um pouco atrás dos miúdos, sempre se brinca um pouco na praia enquanto não está a transbordar de turistas, qualquer coisa. Esta peça é perfeita para essas ocasiões. 

Also, as the weather warms up I want to spend more time outside with the kids. I'm not saying I'll get all sporty, that's not it, but I want to have some fun on our Algarve's sun with the kids, maybe run a little after them, play a little at the beach while it's still empty of tourists, whatever really. This will be a perfect outfit for it. 

Poderei assim aproveitar todo esse tempo, sentindo-me confortável e composta, e ainda confiante por me poder mexer à vontade sem medo de mostrar as cuecas a olhos estranhos. hehe. Fiz a versão A, com a mais simples porque se me vou mexer, preciso que a saia-calção seja o mais simples possível, no entanto existem muitas outras opções à escolha, incluindo um bolso na parte de trás para o telemóvel ou as chaves, se necessário. Fiz também a versão mais curta de duas. 

I will be able to enjoy that time, feeling comfy and pretty, and also confident that I can move as I please because my underwear will still be covered and away from stranger's eyes. hehe. I did version A, the straight skirt, because if I am moving, I need my skorts to be as simple as possible, but you have different options to choose from, including a back pocket for your phone or keys, if needed. I also did the shorter lenght out of two.

Em relação ao tecido, reciclei um vestido que tinha - servia-me mas não gostava de como ficava na zona do pescoço - para os calções, encaixes e cintura. Para a saia usei um outro tecido que já tinha. Guardava-o para fazer um vestido, e queria mesmo usar apenas o tecidos das bolinhas para a peça completa mas não era suficiente, então lá tive que usar o único que ficava bem com esse. 

As for the fabric, I refashioned one of my dresses - it fitted but I didn't like how it looked on the neck area - for the shorts, yokes and waistband. For the skirt I used another fabric from my stash. I was saving it for a dress, and I really wanted to use the polka dots for the whole thing, but I didn't have enough out of the dress, and this other fabric was the only one indeed that I had. matching the other one.

#203 é um molde para malha de uma saia calção para senhora nos tamanhos XXS ao XXL. O molde inclui 5 estilos de saia; saia direita, saia com pregas, saia com folho, saia com frente lisa/folho atrás e saia com frente lisa/pregas atrás. Todos as saias incluem um encaixe e um bolso opcional com fecho atrás. Todas as versões são de cintura média, com elástico. Os calções incluem duas alturas de bainha.As saias e os calções são acabados com bainhas simples. 

#203 is a knit sewing pattern for a Ladies sports skort in sizes XXS to XXL. The pattern includes 5 skirt style options; a straight skirt, a pleated skirt, a flounce skirt, a flat front/flounce back skirt and a flat front/pleated back skirt. All skirt styles include a yoke and an optional back zippered pocket. All versions are mid rise, with an elastic waistband. The included shorts have 2 inseam lengths.  The skirts and shorts are finished with simple hems.

Estava aqui a tentar lembrar-me há quanto tempo tinha testado um molde antes deste que partilho hoje, e a verdade é que não me consigo lembrar. Parece ter sido há uma eternidade. Não interessa... eu ando pouco atenta às chamadas para testes, no entanto e felizmente, deparei-me com a última da Thread Faction Studio, para o novo molde #126 Girls Sport Skort. Não preciso dizer novamente o quanto eu gosto dos moldes da Liz, pois não? 

I was here trying to remember when was the last time I tested a pattern before the one I am just to tell you about, but truth is I can't remember. Feels like ages ago. Anyway... I am not so aware of new testing calls as I was before, but I was lucky to come across the latest one from Thread Faction Studio, for the latest #126 Girls Sport Skort pattern. I don't have to tell you again how much I love Liz's patterns, do I?  

Eu fiz a mais fácil das cinco versões diferentes neste molde, que é a da saia em semi circulo. O molde é mais uma vez, óptimo e conquistou certamente a miúda cá de casa. Estava louca ao perceber que esta não era uma saia banal,  e que por baixo tinha os calções. Nas suas palavras "mãe, já posso correr e saltar à vontade que não se vão ver as minhas cuecas!". Sim, ela adorou. 

So, I did the easiest version from the five different style options on this pattern, the half circle skirt. The pattern is again great as always and a winner as much as my daughter can tell. She was beyond excited when she realised it was no ordinary skirt, it had shorts underneath and in her own words "mom, now I can run and jump, and my underwear won't show!". Yes, she loved it. 

Usei uma malha mais quente para a saia embora ache que o molde é muito mais direccionado para a primavera ou verão, só que eu tinha de o fazer e fotografar agora, por isso lá foi (é a mesma malha que usei aqui). Não estava nada segura que ficasse bem com collants, mas lá experimentámos. Inicialmente estranhei, mas depois habituei-me e não acho que fique mal d'um todo. Além do bónus que é segurar as collants para não escorregarem. 

I used a warmer knit because although I see this skort as a more spring/summer like garment, I was sewing it right when we're heading into winter, and I had to take photos too (That's the same knit I used here by the way). I had no idea if this would work with tights, but I had to try. At first I thought it looked weird, but then I got used to it. It's fine. And as a bonus, it keeps the tights from sliding.

Ora bem! Não estava nada inspirada para esta semana. Tinha uma ideia inicialmente mas faltou-me a motivação para a levar adiante. Estava mesmo prestes a desistir de acompanhar o desafio desta semana, mas acabei por encontrar este tecido às riscas cinzentas e prateadas enquanto remexia nos meus tecidos, e achei-o apropriado para o tema, o prateado faz-me lembrar cenas do espaço e tal... 

Alright! I wasn't really inspired by this week's theme. I had an idea at first but no motivation to do it. I was actually ready to give up at all sewing along this week, but somehow, as I was going through my fabric stash, I came across this silver and grey striped fabric which I thought was appropriate, and silver reminds me of spacy stuff anyway... 

O tecido foi-me oferecido mais uma vez, desta vez pela minha amiga Patrícia, podem encontrá-los na loja Maçãs d'Amor.Este retalho foi o que me sobrou de uma camisola que fiz para mim no ano passado - agora por isso, nunca cheguei a publicá-la por aqui. Há uma foto no meu IG. Enfim... come já não era muito, não tive outra opção senão fazer dele o melhor possível e usar a imaginação. Usei o molde Hazel Blouse da Petite Stitchery & Co. Usei-o aqui também. 

The fabric was a gift again, this time from my friend Patrícia, you can get it over Maçãs d'Amor. This scrap I had was actually the leftovers from another shirt I made myself last year - which reminds me I haven't post about it yet. There's a photo on IG though. Anyway... because I didn't have a lot anymore I had no choice but work it the best I could and get creative. I used the Hazel Blouse pattern by Petite Stitchery & Co. I have used this pattern before, in here. 

Usei a opção da manga curta porque não tinha tecido suficiente para fazer as mangas em balão maravilhosas novamente. Para cortar a parte da saia da túnica aproveitei ao máximo o que sobrou depois de ter cortado todas as outras peças da parte de cima, assim que não segui as medidas das instruções. Também mudei o comprimento da banda das mangas, em vez de 5cm, eu cortei 12,5 cm. Costurei tudo esta manhã enquanto fazia o almoço e corria atrás do meu mais novo. Fiz um tamanho 6. 

I did the short sleeve option because I didn't have enough fabric to make those beautiful bubble sleeves again. Also, used as much as I could from what I got left after cutting all the top pieces to cut the skirt. I didn't follow instructions on cutting for this. I also changed the lenght of the sleeve band, in this case, I made it larger, instead of cutting 2" I cut it 5". I sewed it up this morning between making lunch and running after my youngest. I made a size 6. 

Depois de terminar o top olhei em volta, para algumas peças que tinha penduradas no meu espaço. Lá estava este Phresh Blazer de xadrez verde (molde da Winter Wears Designs, que já usei muitas vezes antes, aqui podem ver mais quatro. E esta semana acabei mais um!). Estava quase terminado havia semanas, só tinha alguns detalhes por fazer como terminar as mangas, fazer a casa para o botão, coser o mesmo e acabar de colocar a fita de viés na bainha. Por ser verde relacionei-o aos homenzinhos verdes (extraterrestres). 

After finishing the top I stared at the other pieces I had hanging in my craftroom. There was this green plaid Phresh Blazer (pattern by Winter Wears Designs, which I have used many times before - here's four more for you to see. I also finished another this past week!). It was nearly finished for weeks, I only had to do the sleeves, buttonhole and button and finish the bias binding on the hem. Because it was green, I related it to the little green fellas (alliens). 

O blazer tem várias opções e desta vez as que escolhi foram os folhos atrás que reciclei deste projecto, os bolsos embutidos com abas, e as mangas compridas e franzidas. Na verdade cortei o comprimento 3/4 porque não tinha tecido suficiente para cortar as compridas, mas depois cortei mais umas peças ao contrário do fio do tecido para criar um padrão contrastante e alongar as mangas. Oh, o tecido? Comprei-o no Pagapouco local há muitos anos. Já estava na hora de o tirar do armário. O tamanho escolhido foi o 8, porque o meu tecido não tem elasticidade como o molde pede, ainda lhe fica um pouco larguinho, mas já se sabe, assim dura mais tempo. 

The blazer has several options and this time I did the ruffles on the back, I actually recycled them from this project here, the inseam pockets with a welt and the long gathered sleeves. I actually cut the 3/4 sleeves option because, you know, I am trying to destash by fabrics and using what I have. I didn't have enough to cut the long sleeves, so I then cut another piece cut on the bias for contrasting print to add to the sleeve lenght. Oh, that fabric? Bought in a local shop many years ago. It was about time to get it out. I made a size 8 because my fabric didn't have any stretch as the pattern called for, it is still a bit too big for her but that's fine, it'll last longer. 

E para terminar, os calções - não sei como os relacionar com o tema, mas completam o meu look. ahahah Lembram-se de ter dito logo na primeira semana que os tinha cortados e meio começados em cima da mesa?! Pois bem, aqui estão. Acabei-os logo nos dias seguintes à publicação, e logo na primeira vez que a miúda os usou o fecho partiu. Era velho, tinha-o reciclado de alguma outra peça que desfiz anteriormente e não confirmei como costumo fazer se ainda estava bom. Fiquei tão fula comigo mesma, é que eu e fechos não somos os melhores amigos, e apesar de conseguir trocá-los e deixar tudo bonitinho na mesma,  o-d-e-i-o  ter de o fazer. Por acaso, arranjei-o ontem, mesmo a tempo para as fotos de hoje. 

And to finish, there's the shorts - I don't know how to relate them to the theme, but they would finish up my look. ahahah Remember how I said back in week one that I had the shorts cut and half started on my sewing table?! Well, here they are. I finished them just a few days after my post, and the very first time my daughter wore them the zipper broke. It was old, I reused it from some piece I refashioned in the past and although I usually test it before actually sewing it to a new garment, I haven't this time. I was so mad about it, just because zippers and I aren't friends, and although I can beautifully change a zipper, I  h-a-t-e  to do so. I fixed it yesterday, just in time to have it ready for today's photos.

O tecido é uma bombazine não muito grossa nem fina que comprei numa loja local há algum tempo, directamente do cesto dos retalhos, por isso mais uma vez não era muito. Era o suficiente para este projecto. Usei o molde 601 Calções de Menina da Burda Kids 1/2010 (da Espanha). Os calções têm um fecho com guarnição à frente, uma mola em vez de um botão porque a miúda ainda se debate com os mesmos, bolsos de encaixe na anca, cintura com elástico ajustável, pregas na frente, dobras na bainhas, pinças atrás e bolsos debruados com paletas. 

This is a medium light corduroy I bought locally, a long while ago, and I got it from the scraps bin, so not much once again. It was enough for this project though. I used the pattern 601 Girl's Shorts from Burda Kids 1/2010 (from Spain). The shorts feature a functional zipper fly, a snap instead of a button because my girl still struggles with them, side pockets, adjustable elastic waist, front pleats, folded hem, back darts and welt pockets with flaps. 

O tecido do forro que usei nos bolsos e na cintura, era apenas um pequeno retalho que recebi juntos com aquele lote imenso que uma leitora aqui do blog me enviou e do qual falo frequentemente. Ainda tenho muita coisa do mesmo por usar, apesar de ir usando em quase todas as peças que tenho vindo a fazer desde então. Era pedacinho era tão pequeno que tive que andar a remendar para conseguir a peça da cintura. 

The lining fabric I used in the pockets and waistband, was just a small scrap I got in that bundle a reader sent me a while ago, it came with so many pieces of fabric, I still have a lot although I've been using them in almost every project I made ever since I got them. This scrap was so small I had to patch it to get enough lenght for the waistband piece. 

Back To School Blog Tour

Nem acredito que posso finalmente mostrar-vos tudo o que andei a costurar nas últimas semanas. Andei a manter segredo mas estava mortinha por partilhar tudo sobre estas peças. Faço parte do Back to School (Regresso às aulas) blog tour organizado por Lulu & Celeste and Sprouting Jube Jube Productions - estas meninas são imparáveis. O tour teve o apoio de grandes designers, algumas ainda não conhecia; mas, já costurei anteriormente moldes da maioria. A sério, mostrem-lhes algum amor.

I can't believe I can finally show you all the things I've been sewing for the last few weeks. I have been keeping it a secret but was here dying to tell you all about it. I am taking part of the Back to School Tour hosted by Lulu & Celeste and Sprouting Jube Jube Productions - seriously, these ladies are unstopable. This tour was sponsored by a group of wonderful sponsors, a few of them were knew to me, but I had sewn with patterns from most. Seriously, show some love to our sponsors. 

Costurei um total de 9 peças para este tour. A minha ideia inicial era fazer um pequeno roupeiro cápsula para a minha filha com algumas peças que combinassem entre si. A maior parte do que fiz foi efetivamente para ela, mas como costurei com o que já tinha em casa, as peças não combinam tanto assim entre elas. Afinal, com os planos para nos mudarmos preciso mesmo de baixar o que já tenho, assim que fazer os possíveis para tal, é a  minha prioridade neste momento. Não vou entrar em grandes detalhes sobre cada peça neste post, como são imensas faria com que isto ficasse tudo muito longo e aborrecido, creio, assim que dividi em vários posts que irei publicar nos próximos dias.

I sewed up a total of 9 pieces for this tour. My first idea was to sew my girl a little capsule wardrobe, with a few coordinating pieces. I did make most of the clothes for her, but I couldn't get them to be that coordinating since I am trying to use what I already have - I have moving plans and need to downsize on my stash, so doing my best to avoid buying more is mandatory right now. I won't go into big details about any of the pieces today, you'll have to come back the next few days to read more about each one of them. I decided to it so, because there are too many pieces for one post. Breaking it into a few different ones turns it a little less boring, I guess. 

Como dizia acima, foi difícil para mim conseguir que todas as peças pudessem ser usadas umas com as outras. E depois também comecei a achar que era injusto não costurar para o meu miúdo, embora soubesse cá no fundo que na verdade ele não tem tanta necessidade de roupa nova como ela, já que ainda temos imensa que nos deram. Planeei 3 peças para ele, mas infelizmente não consegui terminar a terceira a tempo deste post. Vou tentar mostrar-vos as peças pela mesma ordem que eu as fiz, com uma pequena discrição. A primeira do todas foi um pijama para o meu miúdo. 

As I was saying, I had a hard time keeping all the pieces coordinating to each other. I also thought it was unfair to sew only for her, although deep down I know he doesn't need as many new clothes as she does... yes, we still have lots of hand-me-downs for him, but not so much for her anymore. I planed 3 pieces for him, but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the 3rd for this post. I will try to show you all in the same order I made them. The first one was a pyjamas for my boy.

E sabem que mais? Apercebi-me agora que aquela imagem lá em cima está errada, não tenho 2 peças recicladas e sim 3... ai cabecinha, cabecinha... Enfim... A décima peça, a qual não consegui terminar para hoje, é o Marc Shirt da Filles à Maman, um molde que usei há uns tempos para o meu filho. Na altura tornou-se uma das nossas t-shirts preferidas, assim que achei que estava na hora de voltar a fazer-lhe uma. Em breve, certamente. 

And guess what? I just realised that the picture above is wrong, I don't have 2 refashion pieces, I do have 3... oh this little head of mine!

Anyway... The 10th piece which I was not able to finish in time for today, was the Marc Shirt, a pattern by Filles à Maman that I once made for my boy. Back then it became one of our favorites, I thought it was about time to give it a try again. Pretty soon, I guess.

Swimwear Blog Tour

Today I am taking part of the swimwear blog tour, and the best part of it is that I made something for my husband. What? Yes! Can you spot it on today's posters collage below?! 

Let me tell you more about it. 

First things first, I used the Long Beach Board Shorts from Peek-a-Boo pattern shop. Although I follow Amy since the very start I have never used any of her patterns! What? Well yeah, that's true. It just never happened. I jumped at the change of trying one of them right now, AND sewing for my husband at the same time. 

It is official now. I am stepping away from tours and tests for now. I might pop in every now and then, but most of all, I want to find the joy in sewing away, which I lost. Anyway... I found it quite hard to find swimwear fabric around here, at least one my husband and I would like, so of course I did what I always do, dig into my refashion pile. 

I found two pairs of shorts from my husband needing a new life, but I also found a damaged jacket from a cousin. I used this lastest piece and one of the shorts (red red ones) to recycle into new shorts. At first I wasn't really convinced with the mix, but once I was done, it grew on me. I then showed them to their owner and he liked it, which was kind of a relief. I so want to sew more for him. 

I followed the instructions of the pattern, but did mine a bit shorter because I was refashioning and the red shorts I used weren't as long as this one. I reused the lining, but did a new pocket and a new waistband out of the jacket. My favourite feature is the eyelets and cord at the waistband.

New Bubble shorts for her

Nem o quero dizer em voz alta, mas parece que a minha motivação para costurar está mesmo a voltar. Há cerca de um mês achei que devia finalmente costurar duas peças de roupa para mim. Escolhi os tecidos e comecei. Uma dessas peças eram uns calções tipo saia, e como me sobrou tecido pensei em fazer uns a combinar para a minha boneca, o tecido foi mesmo à conta. Aliás, ainda faltou para a cintura, mas usei um retalho preto, do mesmo tecido que usei no forro destes. 

I don't even want to say it outloud, but I believe my sewing mood is really coming back. About a month ago I started two pieces for myself. One of them is a pair of skirtlike shorts, and since I had some fabric left I thought it'd be a good idea to sew a matching one for my daughter. Fabric was just enough. Actually, I needed have enough for the waistband, but I used the same black fabric I used for the lining. 

O molde "Bubble Shorts" da Marta (Do Guincho), é mesmo o que eu pretendia fazer. Usei-o há um par de anos aqui, e aqui e nunca mais o costurei. Gostei imenso daqueles primeiros que fiz em veludo preto, até doeu a alma quando deixaram de servir, felizmente estes últimos não lhes ficam nada atrás. A miúda então adorou, embora diga que é uma saia, mesmo que eu lhe explique que "parece, mas não é!". Ela vai e insiste que é uma saia e que prefere que seja uma saia. Como queiras, miúda! Ficas gira, gira de qualquer forma!!! Ah, fiz-lhe o tamanho 6 e ficou no ponto. 

Marta's Bubble Shorts pattern (Do Guincho) was right what I was planning to do. I used it a couple of years ago here and here and I've never made them again. I liked those first black velvet ones I made so much, it even hurt when she grew them over, luckily these new ones aren't any less loved. She adored them, although she insist in saying it's a skirt not shorts. No matter how many times I tell her otherwise. Whatever kid! You look so so cute anyway!! Oh, I made her size 6 and it fits perfectly. 

O tecido foi-me oferecido pela Sara há cerca de um ano, numa troca que algumas de nós fizemos. Adoro-o! O toque é tão macio e tem um cair tão bonito. Pena que não sobrou mais, é mesmo a minha cara. A minha filha está constantemente a apontar o fato de eu me vestir tanto de preto e cores mais sóbrias, e o engraçado é que depois deste dia me pede constantemente para se vestir "toda de preto" porque gostou muito. Quem saí aos seus... 

This fabric was a gift from Sara, from nearly a year ago, as part of an exchange some of us did. I love it! It is so soft to the touch and drapes so beautifully. Too bad I got nothing left of it, it screams me all over. My daughter is constantly pointing the fact that I wear black and other dark colors so often, and the funny thing is that after this day, she's been constantly asking to dress "all black" because she liked to so much. It's in her blood... 

Talvez também reconheçam o Kimono que ela veste aqui uma vez que já foi publicado aqui no blog também. Ela cresceu um pouco desde então, mas o kimono continua a fazer parte do seu guarda roupa. Obviamente não foi só ela que adorou o look, eu também. E o termos tirado estas fotos numa visita a casa da avó calhou bem, pois quando está por lá a felicidade é tanta que até nas fotos transcende. 

You may also recognize the Kimono she's wearing and you might have seen it here on the blog before. She grew a little since then, but the kimono is still part of her wardrobe. Obviously it wasn't only her to love this look, I did it too. Taking these photos while visiting grandma was a bonus, since she is all happiness when she's there.

Lembram-se de vos falar dos moldes Suco by Susana, que testei aqui e aqui? Apercebi-me há um par de meses que só a Susana e as tours da revista digital One Thimble me davam motivação para costurar. Se espreitarem os últimos meses de 2016 e os primeiros de 2017 aqui no blog, vão entender o que digo. E mais uma vez, a Susana foi o motor de arranque para me pôr a costurar. Inscrevi-me para testar o seu último molde, e como a Susana é uma querida* e sabia que eu estava a precisar de motivação, fui escolhida e o meu miúdo ganhou uns calções novos para os dias mais quentes. 

Do you remember Suco by Susana patterns, which I tested here and here? I realised a couple of months ago, that lately only Susana and One Thimble pattern tours were motivating me to sew. If you check the latest months of 2016 and the first ones from 2017 here on the blog, you'll understand what I'm saying. Once again, Susana was the started engine to get me sewing. I signed for her latest pattern test, and because she's a sweet heart*, and knew I was needed some motivation, picked me for the test, so my boy got a new pair of shorts for the warmer days.

Os calções foram reciclados. Para os fazer usei uma perna de umas calças de homem que tinha na minha pilha de roupa para reciclar. Alguém deu-as novas à minha mãe, que mas deu a mim. Às vezes gostava que as pessoas não se lembrassem que reciclo roupa, assim não me davam tanta, é que depois eu gosto dos tecidos, e vejo o seu potencial e sou incapaz de não ficar com elas. Mas depois lamento a acumulação. Enfim, as calças eram de um tamanho muito grande, daí ter conseguido usar só metade das mesmas, praticamente. Reaproveitei o fecho também. 

The shorts were refashioned. To make these I used one leg from a man's pants I had on my clothes to refashion stash. Someone gave it to my mother, brand new, and she gave it to me. Sometimes I'd wish people would not remember I refashion often so they wouldn't give me so many clothes. After seeing the fabrics and finding their potential in my mind, it is quite hard for me to just not keep them. But then I regret increasing my stash. Oh well, the originals were quite huge, that's why I was able to make the shorts basicly from one leg only. I reused the zipper as well. 

O molde, - Arthur Chinos Calças / Calções - começa no tamanho 3 e vai até aos 14 anos. O meu raspelho, apesar de fazer os 3 este ano, está um bocado abaixo da média. Fiz-lhe o tamanho mais pequeno, ficou um pouco comprido ainda, mas não tanto como eu achei que iria ficar e daqui até ao verão, o miúdo cresce de certeza. Ponderei fazer a opção das calças, mas de certeza que teria muita perna para cortar, por isso, achei que calções era mais sensato para já. 

The - Arthur Chinos Pants / Shorts - pattern goes from 3 to 14 years. My rascal is quite on the small size although he will be 3 this year. I made him the smallest size and it's still a bit too long, but not as much as I thought it would, and it won't be long until he grows before summer. I considered making the pants version, but I sure would have to cut a lot on the legs, so I passed that option for now. 

Mais uma vez, a Susana não desiludiu e o molde estava perfeito. As peça encaixam, as instruções super claras, enfim... recomendo vivamente os moldes Suco by Susana e este não é exceção. 

Susana didn't disappoint again. The pattern pieces fit, the instructions are super clear, so... I lively recommend Suco by Susana patterns and this one is no exception.
