Burda Style 8/2015 |Pattern #125 B version|

Não sei dizer há quanto tempo, mas há mesmo muito que na minha lista de desejos de costura estavam uma calças largas para mim. Tenho várias Burdas com algumas, e até já tinha feito o download das Aster Pants, molde grátis da Mood Sewciety, bastante semelhante a estas, mas faltava algo. 

I don't know for how long, but it's been quite a long time since I had the sewing wish to make myseld a pair of wide pants. I have several Burdas with a few, and I also had download the Aster Pants, a free pattern from Mood Sewciety, very similar to these I made, but there was something missing. 

Acabei por usar este molde em especifico porque tinha o meu tamanho (34) disponível, muitas das peças Burda só começam no 36 e tenho de ajustar, o que nem sempre me apetece. A parte de passar moldes e tal, é a minha menos preferida de toda a costura, assim que, quanto mais exato for, melhor. 

I ended up using this specific Burda pattern, because my size (eu 34) was available, many of their pieces only start at 36, and I always have to make adjustments, and not always feel like it. Pattern tracing and all that, is my least fave when it comes to sewing, so, if I can have things down for me, the better. 

Ainda assim, tive que apertar a cintura porque tenho as costas muito fundas em relação ao rabo, e mesmo em calças ou saias de compra é algo que tenho quase sempre de fazer, apertar a cintura e a parte superior do gancho traseiro. 

Still, I had to fix the waistband because my back is too deep comparing to mu bottom, and even in ready to wear pants and skirts I have to take them in most of the times, waist and upper back crotch. 

Uma vez que sou baixinha, tive também de cortar uma boa parte da bainha nestas calças. Deixei-a um pouco mais comprida para poder usar com saltos altos. Raramente uso saltos desde que fui mãe, mas que gosto, ai isso gosto de um bom salto. E para mim, estas calças só ficam bem com um belo de um salto alto. 

Also, because I am quite short I had to take a few inches off the lenght. I left it a little longer so I can wear it with hight heels. I rarely use them ever since I had kids, but do I love one, oh I do. And for me, these kind of pants only look good with a pair of heels. 

O tecido veio de casa da minha mãe. Era um bom pedaço e a cor é uma das minhas preferidas. O caimento também era o ideal para as calças que eu tinha em mente, sem ser demasiado pesado, mas também sem ser demasiado leve. 

This fabric came from my mother's house. It was a good piece of it and in one in my fave colors. It falls just right for the pants I wanted, being not too heavy ror too light.  

Das últimas peças que fiz, e segundo a minha filha, esta é a preferida. Embora também goste muito da camisa que mostrei no último post, tenho de concordar com ela. As calças são também as minhas preferidas. Com bolsos nas laterais, grandes pregas na frente, e fecha com fecho de correr e colcheta. 

From all the latest clothes I sewn lately, this is my daughter's fave. Although I also like the previous blouse I showed here, I have to agree with her. These are also my fave. They have side pockets, big front pleats, and closes with a zipper and bracket. 

Abby's Marigold Pants & Viridian Swimsuit

Na última publicação partilhei muito por alto as últimas peças que costurei, e que fizeram parte do último catálogo do Project Run and Play (aqui). Ficou prometido mostrar cada uma dessas peças em maior detalhe e é precisamente isso que vou começar a fazer, com estes dois desses moldes, que podem encontrar agora não só na coleção no site do PR&P, como individualmente no site de cada uma das designers. O primeiro é o molde Abby's Marigold Pants (The Wolf and the Tree), seguido do Viridian Swimsuit (Jennuine Design). 

In my last post I quickly shared the latest pieces I made, which were part of the latest Project Run & Play pattern lookbook (here). I promised to show each one of them in more detail and that's precisely what I am starting doing now, with these two patterns, that you can find,not only over at PR&P collection, but also over each designer's site too. The first is the Abby's Marigold Pants pattern (The Wolf and the Tree), followed by the Viridian Swimsuit pattern (Jennuine Design). 

ABBY'S MARIGOLD PANTS 

Este é capaz de ser uma das peças preferidas da minha filha. É uma miúda que gosta de se mexer e gosta, muito, de se sentir confortável. Das várias opções disponíveis, nós escolhemos a mais simples, na versão mais longa. 

This one might be one of my daughter's fave pieces. She's a girl who likes to move and really, really likes to feel comfortable. From all the options available, we picked the simpliest, in the longest version. 

Os tamanhos disponíveis neste molde vão desde os três meses até os 14 anos, por isso é um bom investimento, uma vez que é uma peça que tenho a certeza que não será usado apenas uma vez. 

The sizes available in this pattern goes from 3M to 14Y, which makes it a damn good investment, since it is a piece I am pretty sure I'll make again, so it won't be used a single time. 

Para além dos tamanhos, a outra vantagem, é que consoante os tecidos utilizados é um molde que pode ser usado/costurado para qualquer estação do ano. Acho mesmo que a versão calções vai entrar na lista de peças que gostava de fazer para este verão - mas já se sabe, a lista já vai grande... 

Another good thing to add to the good size range available, is that according to what fabrics you choose, this pattern can be used all year long, suitable to all seasons. The shorts version is probably making it to my to do list soon, though we all know that list is already long... 

VIRIDIAN SWIMSUIT

Quando vi o anúncio de teste deste molde fiquei completamente encantada com o corte vintage da versão em biquíni e mais feliz fiquei ainda quando fui selecionada para o mesmo teste. As opções de construção do fato de banho ou biquíni são inumeras, podendo brincar-se com o color blocking, entre as outras escolhas disponíveis. 

When I first saw the test call for this pattern's test, I was delighted with the vintage design of the bikini option, and I was even happier when I was selected for said test. There are numerous available options and you get to play around with color blocking, among other choices. 

Fiz a versão de duas peças, todo forrado e com as costas tipo racerback. Gostava que este molde fosse também até aos 14 anos, mas não, este vai de recém nascido até 12 anos. Para a minha miúda fiz o tamanho 9 em ambas os moldes (biquíni e calças acima). 

I did the two pieces option, fully lined and racer back top. I wish this one went through 14Y too, but it doesn't though, it goes up from newborn to 12Y. I did size 9 for her on both pieces (bikini and pants above). 

Tenho mesmo que arranjar outro tecido e fazer outro para esta miúda, a cor do tecido não a favorece mesmo nada sendo ela tão branquinha. Isso sim, não é o suficiente para que ela não se tenha fartado já de o usar nas visitas à piscina em casa da tia. Volta amanhã para mais duas das peças costuradas. 

I really have to get some new fabric and make another one for this girl, she's so pale this fabric does not suit her at all. That's for sure not a reason to stop her from using it over and over everytime she goes to my sister's swiming pool. Come back tomorrow for another two of the sewn pieces. 

Project Watercolor Beach Capsule Wardrobe Collection

Nem tudo o que o Covid trouxe foi mau, a mim, por exemplo, trouxe-me a vontade de voltar a costurar, e com isso a oportunidade de fazer parte de um projeto espetacular, uma vez que pude participar nos testes de 5 moldes, todos parte do último catálogo do Project Run and Play (vejam mais sobre isso em designer collection). Na imagem abaixo estão mencionados 4 dos 5 moldes que testei, as calças devem ter ficado esquecidas por lapso, pois como podem ver elas aparecem na última foto. Assim sendo, testei o Viridian Swimsuit, Golden Dress, Chromium Hoodie, Lemon Tee e Abby's Marigold Pants. 

Not everything that Covid brought was bad, to me, for example, it brought back the sewing desire, and with that the opportunity to be part of this cool project, since I was able to take part in five pattern tests from the latest Project Run & Play pattern lookbook (check more about over at designer collection). In the picture below there are mentioned 4 out the 5 patterns I tested, the pants must have got forgotten in the edits, but as you can see, they are pictured too. So that said, I sewed up 5 patterns from the collection: the Viridian Swimsuit, Golden Dress, Chromium Hoodie, Lemon Tee and Abby's Marigold Pants. 

A meio de Abril porém as coisas complicaram-se, e eu não pude acompanhar melhor estas designers que fizeram um trabalho espetacular. A saúde do meu pai agravou de repente, e acabou por deixar-nos a meados de Maio. Tive que desistir de mais um teste quando estava mesmo prestes a começa-lo, e deixei passar mais um que gostava de ter testado também. Tão pouco pude ajudar na divulgação da coleção assim que saiu. Mas eu não conseguia. 

Half way through April, things got messy around here and I wasn't able to follow the designers wonderful job as much as I'd like to. My father's health got really bad, and he eventually left us by the end of May. I had to leave another test I was about to start behind, and let pass another I'd have enjoyed testing too. I couldn't even help promoting as soon as it came out as I planed. I just couldn't. 

Assim que hoje, mostro-vos muito por alto cada uma das peças que fiz e em breve, espero mostrar-vos cada uma delas mais pormenorizadamente, começando com o biquini (Viridian Swimsuit). Tanto eu como a miúda ficámos encantadas com as cuecas de inspiração vintage. A cor do tecido talvez não seja o mais apropriado para o tom de pele dela, tão branquinha, mas eu não tinha muita escolha de material para fato de banho. Tinha apenas um retalho deste que comprei há um par de anos na Espanha e que foi mesmo à medida, mais um pouco e não conseguiria ter feito nada com ele. O modelo é lindo, e tenho a certeza que o irei usar mais vezes, assim que consiga encontrar algum tecido que faça o click.

SO, today I m sharing a quick tour through all the pieces I sewed from this collection, and soon, I hope to be able to share every single one of them in greater detail, starting with the Viridian Swimsuit, bikini version here- Me and the girl were in love with the vintage inspired bottoms. The fabric color might not have been the greatest choice due to her very pale tone of skin, but I didn't have a lot to chose from when it comes to swimsuit fabric. I only had a scrap from this one which I bought in Spain a few years ago, and had it been needed a little bit more and I couldn't use it at all, it was right the amount I needed to make it. The pattern is beautiful, and I am sure I'll be using it quite a few more times, as long as I can find the greatest fabrics. 

A seguir mostro-vos o vestido (Golden Dress), que se não me engano foi a primeira das cinco peças a ser feita. Já não costuro nada sem perguntar antes à miúda se gosta ou não do modelo, é muito decidida com o que quer ou não vestir. Ela adorou (e raramente quer vestidos), então lá estivemos também ambas a escolher o tecido. Um algodão que tinha comprado a pensar num mommy & me look, uma vez que é um padrão que ambas adoramos. Ficámos as duas encantadas com a peça final. 

Next I am showing you the Golden Dress, which I believe was the first of all these to be made. I can't sew the kiddo anything before asking for her opinion, she's quite sure of what she wants to wear or not. She loved it (and very seldomly she likes dresses), so we went through picking fabric together as well. I used this buffalo check cotton I bought with a mommy and me look in mind, because it is a print we both love. The finished piece made us both pretty happy. 

Segue-se então o hoodie (Chromium Hoodie), uma das peças de vestuário que ela mais gosta de usar. Para este fiz duas peças durante o teste, a primeira para ele e uma final, para ela, onde a deixei escolher de todas as opções disponíveis, e como com o vestido, escolheu o tecido também. Para o primeiro teste, para dele, reciclei um hoodie maior do primo. O rapaz não ficou muito satisfeito com a gola, mas também já fazia algum calor para essa peça quando tentei experimentar nele. 

The Chromium Hoodie comes next, it is one of the pieces she enjoys wearing the most. For this test I made two pieces, a first one for him, and a second (final) for her, where I allowed her to pick from all the options available, and just like with the dress, the fabric was also her choice. For the first test, I refashioned their cousin's hoodie, which was bigger, into a new one for my boy- He wasn't quite happy with it because of the neck option I made him, but truth is it was already getting too warm for him to wear that back when he tried it on. 

Outra das peças que fiz foi a Lemon Tee para ele. Aqui também optei por usar uma peça já existente e dar-lhe nova vida. Em ambas peças, esta e a que menciono acima usei a mesma dica, a parte da frente. Este é daqueles moldes com garantia de ser usado uma e outra e outra vez, pois t-shirts são peças essenciais no guarda roupa de qualquer criança. 

Another piece I made was the Lemon Tee for him. Here I also used a pre existing tee to refashion into a new one. In both of them, this and the one I mention above, I used the same tip, turning the front piece to the back and the back to the front. This is one of those patterns we are sure to use over and over, bacause t-shirts are one of the essential pieces in any kid's wardrobe. 

E para terminar, mostro-vos as calças (Abby's Marigold Pants), que são perfeitas para uma miúda super ativa que adora roupa confortável e desportiva como a minha. Na foto veste-as com a parte de cima do biquini, e andava super vaidosa do conjunto. Tinha comprado este tecido para fazer umas camisolas para o pai, mas fica-lhe tão bem como calças nela. Ainda sobrou muito, pode ser que o pai tenha sorte. 

And to finish, here's the Abby's Marigold Pants, which are perfect for this super active, sportswear loving girl of mine. In this picture, she's wearing them with the top of the bikini, and she couldn't be more proud of it. I had purchaised this fabric to make some shirts for the hubby, but it looks as good as pants on her. I still have quite a bit left, maybe dad gets lucky sometime.

Turn Up Trousers |Petit a Petit & Family|

Depois do Ichigo Bomber Jacket para o meu filho e do vestido Up Beet Tee & Dress para a minha filha, só faltava mostrar a terceira peça que testei, as calças Turn Up Trousers, também da Petit a Petit & Family, e que fazem parte da primeira Coleção cápsula de moldes do Project Run & Play. 

After the Ichigo Bomber Jacket I made for my son, and the Up Beet Tee & Dress I made for my daughter, the only pattern left to share, from all three I tested from the first Capsule Wardrobe Pattern Collection over at Project Run & Play, was the Turn Up Trousers, a pattern also by Petit a Petit & Family.

Desta vez foi para o miúdo, no tamanho 4 anos. Ficaram um pouco longas, já que o suposto é baterem ali no tornozelo, mas a criança sai aos seus e é baixinho. Apesar disso, adoramos todos como ficam as calças novas e já as vestiu um par de vezes, naqueles dias de verão que vão aparecendo no meio dos dias de inverno desta primavera. 

This time I made it for my son in a size 4. It's a bit too long on him because they are supposed to hit the ankle, but shortness runs in the family and he is no exception. Despite that, we all loved the fit of the trousers, and he has worn it a couple of times, in those summer days that have been showing between the wintery days from this spring time.

Pattern Features:
The Turnip Up Trousers & Shorts are cropped tapered trousers with a funnel drawstring and turned up hem, perfect for everyday.

Para as calças, usei um tecido de linho que tinha no monte há algum tempo, já nem me recordo bem qual foi a sua origem. No reforço dos joelhos e nos bolsos do lado, usei um retalho de uma malha com pouca elasticidade, num castanho chocolate para contrastar com o tecido principal. Nos pequenos retalhos que decoram as calças e lhe dão tanta personalidade, usei também restinhos de outro linho que andava por cá. 

I used a linen fabric I had in my stash for a while, I can't even tell where it came from. For the knee patches and the side pockets I used a so so stretchy knit scraps I had, in a chocolate brown color to contrast the main fabric. The patches sewn to the pants give it quite a bit of personality are also small scraps I already had. 

A cintura é em malha e tem elastico e um cordão para apertar. Mais uma vez usei o que já tinha, neste caso um atacador nunca usado. Uma das coisas que mais gostei foi do acabamento com viés na baínha que vira para fora. Dá um ar mais limpo e profissional à peça, não é? As calças (ou na opção calção) são muito práticas e mesmo boas para os dias mais quentes. Tenho cá para mim que ainda vou ter que fazer mais uma ou duas. Gostei mesmo do modelo. 

It has a knit band waist with an elastic and drawstring. Again I used what I already had and in this case, the drawstring was one from a pair of shoe-ties. One of the things I like the most is the hong kong finishing in the rolled hems. It gives the trousers a clean look and sorta profissional, right? The trousers (or shorts option) are pretty comfortable and great for warmer days. I'm thinking I might have to make a couple more. I really loved the design. 

Orbis Skinny Harem Pants (#4)

Oi-oi a todos! Estamos a meio do primeiro mês de 2019 e estou muito feliz por ter costurado já uma das coisas na minha lista pessoal. O meu miúdos vive em calças confortáveis, é extremamente activo... mas, é baixinho e magro, por isso as calças ou lhe ficam demasiado curtas para servir na cintura, ou demasiado largas na cintura para servir no comprimento. 

Hey all! We're half way though the first month of 2019 and I am pretty happy that I have already sewed one of the things I wrote down on my personal sewing to do's. My boy lives in comfy pants, he is too much active... but he's short and slim so pants are either too short to fit on the waist or too baggy on the waist to fit on height. 

Não tenho costurado tanto para os miúdos como fazia há uns anos, mas este ano gostava de voltar a comprar menos roupa (embora já o tenha feito!Shhh!), então estou a ver se me concentro em voltar a costurar para eles... e mais! Para esta peça, não só voltei a costurar para eles como voltei também à reutilização. Pff, tentei lembrar-me há quanto tempo o tinha feito pela última vez, mas não consigo. Estou feliz por tê-lo feito agora, e para isso usei uma camisola XXL que comprei por 1€ num mercado de velharias o ano passado. Era bem quentinha e queria transformá-la em algo para os miúdos. Na altura penso que até idealizei um hoodie. 

I haven't been sewing as much for my kids as I did a couple of years ago, but I'd like to buy less clothes this year (though I have already! Shhhh!), so I am focusing in getting back to sewing lots of clothes for them... or more! For this one, I did not only got back to sewing for them, as I got back to refashioning. Gosh, I've been trying to remember but I can't, I can't recall what was the last thing I refashioned before this one. I'm glad I did now, and for that I used a XXL sweater I bought for 1€ or less in a thrift market last year. It was pretty warm and I wanted to make something for the kids with it. I think I first thought of a hoodie back then. 

Ó céus, é mesmo giro! Usei o molde Orbis Skinny Harem da Sofilantjes Patterns. Fiz-lhe o tamanho 3 porque deu-me a preguiça para traçar o 4, uma vez que já tinha o 3 dos calções que fiz no ano passado. Pensei mesmo que iriam ficar melhor. Ele normalmente veste um 3 na maior parte das peças de compra. Ok, o tecido também não tinha lá grande elasticidade o que poderá ter ajudado a ficarem ainda mais apertadinhas, mas mesmo em altura não deixaram espaço para crescer. O que significa que estas podem não servir por muito tempo. Tudo bem ainda assim. Serei um pouco menos preguiçosa para a próxima - eventualmente. 

Gosh, he's cute! This is the Orbis Skinny Harem from Sofilantjes Patterns. I made him a size 3 because I  was lazy to trace the pattern in size 4, since I had the pattern ready from the shorts I made him last year. I truly thought they would fit better. Usually he wears 3 in most RTW. Ok, the fabric wasn't all that stretch so it might have made it even skinnier, but even in height they don't have any room to grow, at all. Which means these may not last for too long. That's fine though. I'll be a little less lazy next time - eventually. 

Então dizia eu, que lhe fiz um tamanho , na versão calças desde vez, devido ao tempo, claro. No entanto fiz uma pequena alteração no molde. O original traz estes bolsos únicos e super originais numa peça única de trás para a frente, como podem ver nas minhas primeiras duas versões do molde (vejam as fotos no fim do post para mais). Em vez desses bolsos, fiz-lhe bolsos simples na frente e pespontei com um ponto decorativo, tal como fiz nas laterais das pernas (que creio que não se vê em nenhuma das fotos que tirámos - se calhar só um bocadinho na foto acima).

So, I made a size 3, pants version this time because weather, but I have hacked the pattern on the shorts. The original has these very unique and original pockets from the back to the front, as you can see in my first two previous versions of the pattern (check the bottom of this post to see more). Instead of those, I made him simple front pocket and topstitched them with a decorative stitch, as well as the legs side seams (which I don't think you can see in any of the photos we took - maybe a bit on the one above). 

As calças foram completamente feitas a partir da frente e trás da camisola original e ainda tenho as mangas. Talvez as use noutras calças, também para ele, com um molde super divertido que testei no ano passado e que também ainda não publiquei. Mas se as fizer, prometo, venho logo publicar!

The entire pants were made out of the front and back pieces of the original shirt and I still have the huge sleeves left. I might use them in another pants for him, with this fun pattern I tested last year but haven't posted yet, either. But, if I do, it's a promise, I will post right away!

Back To School Blog Tour

Nem acredito que posso finalmente mostrar-vos tudo o que andei a costurar nas últimas semanas. Andei a manter segredo mas estava mortinha por partilhar tudo sobre estas peças. Faço parte do Back to School (Regresso às aulas) blog tour organizado por Lulu & Celeste and Sprouting Jube Jube Productions - estas meninas são imparáveis. O tour teve o apoio de grandes designers, algumas ainda não conhecia; mas, já costurei anteriormente moldes da maioria. A sério, mostrem-lhes algum amor.

I can't believe I can finally show you all the things I've been sewing for the last few weeks. I have been keeping it a secret but was here dying to tell you all about it. I am taking part of the Back to School Tour hosted by Lulu & Celeste and Sprouting Jube Jube Productions - seriously, these ladies are unstopable. This tour was sponsored by a group of wonderful sponsors, a few of them were knew to me, but I had sewn with patterns from most. Seriously, show some love to our sponsors. 

Costurei um total de 9 peças para este tour. A minha ideia inicial era fazer um pequeno roupeiro cápsula para a minha filha com algumas peças que combinassem entre si. A maior parte do que fiz foi efetivamente para ela, mas como costurei com o que já tinha em casa, as peças não combinam tanto assim entre elas. Afinal, com os planos para nos mudarmos preciso mesmo de baixar o que já tenho, assim que fazer os possíveis para tal, é a  minha prioridade neste momento. Não vou entrar em grandes detalhes sobre cada peça neste post, como são imensas faria com que isto ficasse tudo muito longo e aborrecido, creio, assim que dividi em vários posts que irei publicar nos próximos dias.

I sewed up a total of 9 pieces for this tour. My first idea was to sew my girl a little capsule wardrobe, with a few coordinating pieces. I did make most of the clothes for her, but I couldn't get them to be that coordinating since I am trying to use what I already have - I have moving plans and need to downsize on my stash, so doing my best to avoid buying more is mandatory right now. I won't go into big details about any of the pieces today, you'll have to come back the next few days to read more about each one of them. I decided to it so, because there are too many pieces for one post. Breaking it into a few different ones turns it a little less boring, I guess. 

Como dizia acima, foi difícil para mim conseguir que todas as peças pudessem ser usadas umas com as outras. E depois também comecei a achar que era injusto não costurar para o meu miúdo, embora soubesse cá no fundo que na verdade ele não tem tanta necessidade de roupa nova como ela, já que ainda temos imensa que nos deram. Planeei 3 peças para ele, mas infelizmente não consegui terminar a terceira a tempo deste post. Vou tentar mostrar-vos as peças pela mesma ordem que eu as fiz, com uma pequena discrição. A primeira do todas foi um pijama para o meu miúdo. 

As I was saying, I had a hard time keeping all the pieces coordinating to each other. I also thought it was unfair to sew only for her, although deep down I know he doesn't need as many new clothes as she does... yes, we still have lots of hand-me-downs for him, but not so much for her anymore. I planed 3 pieces for him, but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the 3rd for this post. I will try to show you all in the same order I made them. The first one was a pyjamas for my boy.

E sabem que mais? Apercebi-me agora que aquela imagem lá em cima está errada, não tenho 2 peças recicladas e sim 3... ai cabecinha, cabecinha... Enfim... A décima peça, a qual não consegui terminar para hoje, é o Marc Shirt da Filles à Maman, um molde que usei há uns tempos para o meu filho. Na altura tornou-se uma das nossas t-shirts preferidas, assim que achei que estava na hora de voltar a fazer-lhe uma. Em breve, certamente. 

And guess what? I just realised that the picture above is wrong, I don't have 2 refashion pieces, I do have 3... oh this little head of mine!

Anyway... The 10th piece which I was not able to finish in time for today, was the Marc Shirt, a pattern by Filles à Maman that I once made for my boy. Back then it became one of our favorites, I thought it was about time to give it a try again. Pretty soon, I guess.

Recentemente recebi dois moldes da Petite Stitchery, o molde Girls Fawn Leggings e o molde Girls Hazel Blouse. Escolhi as leggings porque tivemos mais um surto de crescimento cá por casa e todas as que a miúda tinha ficaram a meia canela. Claro que ainda assim as veste (leggings são daquelas coisas que vai sempre servindo, só muda o estilo), mas precisava de leggings que chegassem ao tornozelo para quando os dias decidem ficar mais frescos. Como isto anda, pode ser a qualquer momento. A túnica, pelo mesmo motivo, além de que a junção das duas peças é perfeita. Adorei as mangas!

I've recently got two patterns from Petite Stitchery, the Girls Fawn Leggings and the Girls Hazel Blouse. I chose the leggings because we had another growth spurt over here and all the leggings this girl owned kinda shrinked. Of course she still wears them (leggings are one of those things that grows with them, restyled differently), but she needed some longer leggings, that would actually cover her until her ankles for the colder days. The weather is so strange lately it can happen at any time. The blouse, I picked for the same reason, besides, both pieces together look just perfect. I loved those sleeves! 

Ambos os tecidos usados foram ofertas. O da túnica, foi-me enviado por uma leitora do blog que numa mudança, se desfez de muitos dos seus tecidos e mos enviou a mim. Se me lês, mais uma vez obrigado! Aos poucos vão sendo usados!!! O tecido das leggings foi-me enviado pela Sara (Made by Sara) como já tinha mostrado num dos podcasts lá para trás. 

Both fabrics I used were gifted to me. The blouse's was sent to me by a blog reader when she moved and got rid of some of her fabrics. Bit by bit I've been using them!!! The leggings' fabric was sent to me by Sara (MadebySara) as I shared in one of my podcasts (in portuguese only, sorry!). 

A túnica ficou ótima neste tecido, que tem um cair magnifico. É suave, leve e a miúda aprovou. Infelizmente não deu para as mangas, era um retalho não muito grande e foi mesmo por pouco, assim que usei um outro retalho (que veio junto com este) para fazer os balões das mangas. O azul não é precisamente igual, mas deu para desenrascar e improvisar!

The blouse was just great with this fabric, it has a beautiful drape. It's soft, light and the kid approved it. Sadly I didn't have enough for the sleeves, my fabric piece was more like a scrap and I had just enough for the body and upper sleeves. I used a different scra (I got with this one too) to make the bubble parts of the sleeve. The blue shade isn't exactly the same, but it was good enough to get away with it!

Já o tecido que usei para as leggings revelou-se demasiado fino e tenho as minhas dúvidas em relação ao tempo que se vai aguentar. Ainda para mais com esta miúda que está super enérgica e imparável. O molde tem duas opções de leggings, as tuxedo ou as simples, e eu fui pelas simples desta vez. A outra versão está nos planos. A cintura também tem duas opções, escolhi o cós com dobra. Ambos as peças fiz tamanho 6 anos. As partes de cima geralmente assentam-lhe melhor neste tamanho que as de baixo, para as quais veste o número anterior (5). Ela só os faz em pouco mais de um mês, mas costuro com folga e esperança que durem pelo menos até ela fazer 7... ahahahah

When it comes to the leggings fabric though, I have my doubts it will last long, since it turned out to be too light. To top it all this girl has been deeply energic and unstoppable. The pattern has two leggings option, tuxedo or plain, and I went with the latest this time. The other version is in my plans. The waist has two different options too, and I chose the folded one. I made both pieces in size 6. Tops usually fit her better in this size, bottoms not so much, she needs the smaller size now (5). She'll be 6 in a bit more than a month though, so I am sewing with room to grow and the hope those things will last at least until she's 7...ahahah
